"So, me and Asahi are dating, and that's it. You do not need to know any details about anything about this, other than the fact that we both love each other very much."
The entire team took Noya and Asahi's coming out decently well. Some were a little confused, but took it fine once they had processed it. Nishinoya could honestly say he had expected as much.
What he didn't expect was Hinata pulling him aside and asking him and Asahi to help him come out.
"All I know," he said, "is that I like boys. I dunno if I like girls and guys, or just guys, or just girls, because you know I've never really had a big huge crush before you know? Like this one is making my heart go zwaang and it's freaking me out! Is this how you felt about Asahi? Is this normal?"
It was hard to properly answer him. Normal was different for everyone, after all. But, Nishinoya did have a pretty decent idea of what he meant, so Hinata hadn't failed in the explanation category, that was for sure. He'd done his best to calm the boy, and assure him that he'd be accepted on the team for whenever he was ready to talk.
"Whatever happens," he'd told him, "we're gonna be here for you."
Nishinoya had been changing in the club room with Tanaka and Hinata when it happened first.
"So, Tanaka-senpai."
"What is it, my lovely kouhai?"
"I...think I might be gay...? Or bi...? Or something? I like guys is what I'm trying to say."
"Okay, I love and accept you for the way you are."
And he went back to looking for his pants.
This gave Hinata the confidence that he dearly needed. He marched up to Nishinoya the next day with a grin and mostly wiped away tears.
"I just came out to my parents!" He announced.
It went well. I've seen too many fanfictions where the parents hate the kid, or throw them out, and while that is an unfortunate reality for a lot of people, it's not the only reality.
For tho I came out to my friend and she responded the same way Tanaka did (minus the whole looking for the pants thing) and it's the best response I've ever gotten to this day.
