Nishinoya woke up.
That's about the description you need, because he never wakes up well. He loved sleep way more than was good for him. His day depended on his sleep.
At least he slept well.
Oh, and it was his birthday. But that didn't matter because he still had hell-
school-
to attend to.
A few hours later he sat down to lunch behind the volleyball gym, his usual spot, because it was quiet there. Sometimes. But today it was!
He had just finished his lunch when a tall figure turned the corner.
Asahi.
"Hey."
"Hey."
"So, I wanted to let you know about this beforehand. I can't make it to practice. Can you tell Daichi for me?"
"Can't you tell him yourself?"
"Well, he's kinda...scary..."
"Fine, you wuss."
That practice, he walked into the club room.
No shit, Sherlock.
He walked into the club room and was immediately bear hugged from behind by Daichi.
Or so he thought.
Until Daichi picked him up and hauled him out of the gym. "Don't scream," Tanaka whispered, "It's a surprise." So of course, Nishinoya screamed as loud as he could. And of course, Tanaka smacked his hand over the others mouth.
"Ew!!"
Nishinoya had licked his hand, then continued screaming. Tanaka wiped his hand on Noya's arm. Then, they got there.
Where was there?
Well, it was a garden, and Asahi was there.
Wait, Asahi was there?
Daichi deadass dropped Yuu onto the ground and left.
He picked himself up and Asahi looked nervous.
"So...Nishinoya..."
"Yeah?"
"I know today's your birthday. And- I wanted to give you something special."
"Huh? What?"
"I...wanted to give you...a kiss?"
Noya's eyes grew bright as stars.
"Okay."
So Asahi leaned down, and Yuu looked up, and their lips met.
It was the best birthday he'd ever had.
