Sugawara smirked.
"Someone's in looooooove-"
"NO!"
"I can see you blushing very clearly, you know."
"...stupid...fine."
Sugawara Koushi knew everything. About love, about friendship, about his best friend Asahi Azumane, who was blushing furiously, because he had just been discovered. Now Sugawara knew.
Now he knew that Asahi had a crush on Nishinoya Yuu.
And not just a small crush either, a huge, insane, don't-even-try-to-deny-it kind of crush. The you-can't-get-them-out-of-your-head kind of crush.
He had a big fat crush on Nishinoya Yuu.
And Sugawara Koushi knew it.
Now, Suga was trustworthy, and if Asahi had to pick anyone to know, it would be him, but that still didn't stop him from having a small mid-life crisis on the floor of his bedroom. Right in front of the other boy too, who was sitting by him waiting for it to be over. He was used to this. Azumane had a glass heart, and was nervous about everything, so crises were common.
After a few minutes had passed, Suga said,
"By the way, he totally likes you back."
"I- what?"
"He stares at you during practice games."
"He's probably marking me because I'm the ace!"
"He does it when he plays with you, too."
"He's just...making sure he can catch any balls that get blocked after I spike them!"
"He also sneaks glances at you whenever we're doing passing drills."
"He gets the ball! How is that possible?"
"He's a libero, Asahi."
"Right."
"I'm just saying, you have a fair shot."
"Well I can't aim for shit!"
"Nice euphemism, but that's a lie and you know it."
"That wasn't a euphemism!"
"Do you even know what euphemism means?"
"It's- aagh! We're off topic again! I don't have a chance with someone as cool and-"
"Cool your jets, Asahi. If I can tell Daichi, you can tell Nishinoya."
"And if he doesn't like me back?"
"Well, it's your last year here anyway."
"...yeah. I guess so."

The next day at practice, Nishinoya and Tsukishima got into an argument about something. Asahi had no clue what, but from what he heard from the changing rooms sounded something like this:
Tsukishima was annoyed at Noya for failing a save during the practice game they'd had that day. Noya was upset at Tsukishima because he was just having an off day.
"Well I don't care how off of a day you're having! If you fail that many times, then maybe you shouldn't be a libero."
The next thing he heard was a loud smack, and a sob as light footsteps ran by.
He peeked out.
There was Tsukki, stunned, staring straight ahead, and gently placing his fingers on his cheek.
And Nishinoya was nowhere to be seen.
