*Dark and clear taking the kingdom wasn't a coup, it was literally like at a party, i think everyone was kinda like "queen vigilance is mildly annoying let's get rid of her" and WITHOUT THEM HAVING ANY SAY IN IT, OR ANY PRESSING REASON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN THEY BECAME KING AND QUEEN. I cannot stress enough how insane it was.
*Shadowhunter became an astronaut. Like I think she just used her magic to go to the moon sometimes when she was mad at her mom??? It was wild.
*Originally it started when they were WAY younger, like... dragon-eighteen ish. I cut that out to speed things up and lowkey regret it, but also it was very necessary for the structure of this story to work. I have this vague idea for a prequel of the timeline series where it's like a legends rewrite taking place over the same timeline, it explores what dark and clear got up to in their teen years (tm), some good war drama shit, and fathom actually gets to be a character, can you imagine
*Eclipse was the one who wrote poetry, not Way, and she was close to Whiteout but she didn't draw. I had no idea what his designated hobby was and I kept changing it around trying to find something that fit.
*Ok, so in my head each of the character is a very specific internet aesthetic. Like Clearsight is light academia or royalty/queencore, Darkstalker is dark academia, Eclipse is a soft girl, Shadowhunter is punk, and Way is just a theatre kid (is that an aesthetic? i'm making it one lol), but BACK IN YE OLDEN DAYS, WAY WAS AN EBOY. Like... not a wannabe eboy like he is now, an actual eboy. I cannot stress enough how bad it was.
OKAY HEADCANON TIME
*A few years from now, Whiteout gets married to Thoughtful and they have one kid together, Dreamcatcher, and, uh, you know how Darkstalker had a kid who took after Whiteout? Well yeah... Dreamcatcher is basically like Darkstalker 2.0 only he doesn't have powers and he's a lot nicer, him and Darkstalker are super close and he thinks his uncle is very cool.
*Just feel the need to let you know I call Snowfox, Pearl, and Carmen the Mean Girls in my outlines
*The fact that darkstalker homeschooled shadowhunter for like six months lives in my head rent free because as a sort-of homeschool kid, I can attest to how much of a mess that would have been. Like Darkstalker has the self-control of a small child... and Shadowhunter was a small child. It would have been absolute chaos, I like to think he used his magic to teach her different things! Like to teach her history he would make a "time machine" that was just an empty box, and when they got inside it together they could see a very simplified version of what happened during The Scorching outside them. (It wasn't like they were actually going back in time, it was just a teaching method because Shadowhunter is a huge kinesthetic learner.) Or, like, he took her on little field trips into the woods to teach her how to hunt and also learn Science Facts (tm) and practise flying!!! Or like make up little songs to help her learn multiplication and division?? Idk, Shadowhunter and Darkstalker's dynamic is my favourite thing, I love them both so much <3
*My friend bugged me for like months on end about "giving Darkstalker a bro squad" which was why he got friends in the army. Thank you for giving me that idea, it was a very good one
*After this is all over, Dark and Clear both really try to go full, like, housewife/husband mode, and just spend lots of time with each other and their kids... which is great for like three months before they both start to absolutely lose their minds
*So Clearsight teaches a kindergarten class for a while, as well as doing seer-training and then she decides to actually get a teaching degree, like when all their kids are a bit older and she has enough time, and she teaches a class at the university for a while, while still getting to do seer-training and idk maybe an English class in the high school. Ooo, she would also make a really good guidance counsellor, like using her power to help people figure out what they want to do for careers? I could totally see that.
*Lowkey love the idea of Darkstalker going on to, like, keep inventing cool things for fun, and casually drop-kicking the night kingdom into a new century every few weeks, but making his main job like... architecture?? Engineering? (Darkstalker having an architecture firm makes me laugh for some reason, he gets to talk about THE FIRM at dinner parties.) (That's so terrible, I'm losing my mind.)
*The first Timeline book was unintentionally and very loosely based on the 1920s, and then Waves of Ice was like, the Great Depression/1930s, and I imagine OTQ as the 40s, like right after World War II (I don't know much about any of these periods, apart from World War II because I watched too many history documentaries and war dramas specifically about that period as a kid. Please don't take me too seriously lol). Anyway the TDLR is that after this series is over you can imagine Darkstalker and Clearsight as a 1950s couple but without the shitty gender roles.
