"THIS IS the place you wanted us to stay in?" Oakes asked while everyone stared at the place in worry.

It was a three-story house that was painted in fading white, with big piles of trees surrounding it, and a cliff that had a view of a big lake at about a distance from the woods.

"Yeah. Didn't you hear Mal? We need to stay away from people so we don't harm anybody!" Timothee explained.

"So you bring us to a haunted place in a haunted woods?" Saorise questioned, staring at the house's smallest details.

"It's going to be fine! You guys just have to trust me."

They all sighed and followed Timothee inside the house.

Oakes stared at the walls of his new room, as he began to tidy up his things. He let out his clothes from his luggage, and started hanging them in the mostly worn-out closet.

The feeling of being watched didn't leave him at all. In fact, it was becoming stronger ever since he entered the room. He feared that he was being paranoid, or maybe his anxiety was just kicking in. Either ways, he didn't want himself going crazy.

He needed someone to talk to.

But who..?

He reached for his phone that was on the nightstand, and pressed on the messages app, going straight to Mal's number.

Hey, Mal ! It's me, Oakes. Just wanted to let you know that we arrived at the new/old house, and I'm in my room right now. Hope you're doing okay.

A few minutes later, he got a reply.

Great! I'll text Timothee for the address tomorrow so I can visit you guys sometimes. Good night!

His heart sank a little, since she didn't even want to speak to him that much. To him, her reply was flat, and it hurt his feelings. He sighed again, then threw his phone on the bed.

I miss you so much.

Just five words that were so hard to say.

Five words that meant everything to him.

He held his phone again, and typed the words as quickly as possible.

Then pressed send.

I never cheated.
He typed again.

For a moment, he saw the word seen, and thought that she would finally answer him.
And maybe get back together with him.

But there was no reply.

He waited for a few minutes, but no reply.

He felt like he wanted to disappear.

"Come on, guys! Dinner's ready!"
Timothee called out, pouring orange juice into tall, transparent glasses.

Oakes sighed, and got up from his bed. He headed downstairs, and sat down on the dinner table, between Pilot and Finn.

However, he didn't have his phone so he can see Mal's reply on his text from earlier.

You don't even know me, Oakes..
