Socks walked into Medbay, he saw Meme hunched over his desk.

Socks' thought: What do I say? What can I say? 

Socks cleared his throat. Meme looked up over to him.

Meme: Oh, uhhh- wh- what are you- um, like... what... do you need something?

Socks: Were uh, watching a movie. You wanna watch with us?

Meme: Um, everyone?

Socks: Yeah, they're in coms right now.

Meme: Um, sure. I could use a break.

Socks: Great.

Socks quickly turned around and headed out of Medbay.

Meme's thought: Say something. Say sorry. Talk about it.

Meme: Hey, Socks!

Meme called for Socks, but he was already too far. Meme sighed.

Meme: Shit.

He grabbed his blanket and walked out of Medbay. He headed over to coms with the rest of the crew. When he walked in everyone was huddled  up in their spots. The only free seat was next to Socks.

Woolf: Ahhh Meme! Glad you made it.

Woolf walked over to Meme and whispered in his ear so only he could hear.

Woolf: I left you a spot next to Socks.

He winked.

Meme(sarcastic): Great.

Meme sat on the floor next to Socks. He flew the blanket over his legs and laid up against the wall next to Socks. Since there was so many people in the room, their shoulders were touching. Meme looked up over to Socks.

Meme: So uh, what movie are we watching?

Without looking, Socks spoke.

Socks: The bye bye man.

Meme: Is it scary?

Socks(in a mocking tone): Yeah it's a scary one, so go cuddle with Woolf if you really want to.

Meme: Oh ha ha you're so funny. I won't get scared.

Socks: Sure you wont. Just like you wouldn't play with someones feelings.

Meme looked away.

Meme's thought: God he's so dumb. I was trying to be nice.

Dino; Ok! Movie is starting in 3... 2... 1!

Dino pressed play and The Bye Bye Man started rolling. Every once in a while you would here a slight scream from Blaza or Nadwe. Socks was staring off and rarely paying attention.

Socks' thought: I wanna put my arm around him. But I'm still mad. Thank god Woolf didn't "forget" his blanket this time, I don't think I could handle that again.

Then, Socks felt a light squeeze on his arm. He looked down to see Meme pushing his head into his chest and grabbing his arm. He looked over to the screen and saw that the Bye Bye man was on. Socks put his other hand in Meme's hair and played with it as an attempt to calm Meme down.

Socks(quietly): Thought you said you wouldn't get scared.

Meme: Shut up.

Socks giggled as he pulled his hand away. Meme let go of  Socks' arm and moved his head down to his lap.

Socks' thought: I really can't stay mad at him for long, he's just so precious. Whats this movie about again? I just want to hold him forever.

Meme's thought: This is nice. I wanna stay here forever. I can't believe he thought I liked Woolf. Whatever, I'm glad were ok. I'm sure were gonna talk about it though. What if we get in another argument? I hope not.

Blaza's thought: Why the fuck we gotta watch a scary movie. Dino has problems. Like how this man gonna watch two scary movies back to back? I cant, I gotta look away.

Blaza turned from the screen, he looked over at Socks and Meme. His jaw dropped.

Blaza's thought: OMG! SOOO CUTEEEEEE! I LOVE THIS! WISH I COULD TAKE A PICTURE! 

Meme looked over to Blaza and saw him staring. He quickly sat up. Socks looked over to Meme confused. Meme stared straight at the TV.

Meme's thought: Shit. He saw us. This cannot be good.

Socks' thought: Why'd he move? We were doing just fine. He won't look at me.

Blaza turned the other way so that he was facing the TV again. Meme didn't even look at Socks for the rest of the film. Finally, the movie ended.

Laff(clapping): Nice movie choice.

Dino: Yeah it really was good.

Blaza: Next time, can it not be scary?

Woolf: Oh you wimp, it wasn't that bad.

Blaza: You literally live in darkness you sad little 2008 emo.

The crew broke out laughing.

Meme: It was good, but I'm getting hungry. Is it dinner time yet?

OOF: Same here.

Joocie looked down to his watch.

Joocie: Yeah in about 5, 4, 3, 2, 1-

Intercom: ALERT! DINNER TIME! ALERT!

Nadwe: Talk about perfect timing.

The whole crew got up and walked to the cafe. All but Meme and Socks.

Meme: Blaza saw us.

Socks: What do you mean?

Meme: I mean when I was laying my head on your lap, Blaza looked over and saw us. That's why I moved.

Socks: So?

Meme: So? SO? So now Blaza knows about us!

Socks: Us? Thought you said we weren't anything.

Meme rolled his eyes.

Meme: I really cant right now. Okay. I don't have the time to-

Socks: Then make time. If you really give a shit then do it. If you really care about me, do it. I don't wanna give up on this but you can't just act like nothing happened. You can't act like you didn't throw me away like trash. You have to try.

They stared at each other in silence, with anger.

Meme: I wan't this to work too, okay, I do, really. But I'm not the only one who needs to shape up. You need to understand whats important to me, and respect the fact that I'm not ready to tell everyone. Okay? I'm not like you. I can't just be careless all the time.

Socks: Careless? You think I don't care? You're the one going around and cuddling up with other people. So who's really careless?

Meme: Really? That wasn't even my fault! God you are so stubborn. 

The two stayed silent for a few minutes. Finally, Meme spoke.

Meme: I think we need to pause for right now. From everything. Friends, more then friends, just all of it. I wan't to be with you, but... it's a lot... 

Socks' breathing became heavy. Meme started to walk past him, but Socks garbed his arm and turned him around. They looked dead into each others eyes.

Socks: Meme.... I.... I love you. And I don't want... I don't want anyone else, I just want to be with you. And, I know. You're right. I need to respect you.

Tears ran down Meme's face. He pushed his head into Socks' chest and hugged him, sobbing. Socks put his arm around his waist and used his other hand to play with Meme's hair.

Socks: I think you're right. We need a break.
