Veronica unsent her message about needing help to solve things with Catalina, but she doesn't know that I saw the message through my notifications, along with her invitation to a party. Of course, I can never say no to a party, but this time I have to make a choice. Because there is no way Catalina would let me go, even if she did she'd hold a huge grudge.

My mom comes into my room, opening the door and peeking her head in. "Hey I heard Ronnie is throwing a party, are you guys going?" She asks and I shake my head not looking up from my phone. "Why not?" She asks again and I can hear the frown on her face so I sigh and look up to face her. The door to Catalina's room is open and I can see her eavesdropping into the conversation.

"I'm busy," I shrug.

"What about you Cata?" She asks with her hands on her hips, turning around to face her door.

"I'm busy," She says with a shrug, copying my answer.

My mom sighs and rubs her temple with her forefingers. "Whatever you kids did, fix it, you can't lose a friend like that so get dressed and go to that damn party." She says and walks away. When neither of us moves she yells from the end of the hall. "I meant right now!"

Cata and I look at each other before closing our doors and getting dressed. We get in the car and I drive to her house, knowing the way from all the times we went over and picked her up.

I park across the street from her house and look at Catalina. "You sure about this?"

"It's a big party, we probably won't even see her, at least sober we won't." She says with a shrug and unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car. I shake my head and follow her out and into the house, let the drinks begin.
