I wrap my arms around Veronica's small body tightly, nuzzling my face into her hair. "It'll be ok it'll be ok." I shush as I smooth my hands down her hair.
She keeps sobbing into my shoulder and I look around the hall trying to find the man who caused her to be in this heartbreaking pain. I see Alex hanging out with who I assume to be the girl he cheated on Veronica with, I mean I get what he saw in her, she was the cheerleaders' captain, but Veronica is much more special than her, even I knew it.
I see Catalina running over as I make eye contact with her, giving her a small nod that she returns.
"I'll be right back ok?" I whisper into Veronica's ear as she whimpers and nods slowly. I let go of her once Catalina came to hold her.
I feel my hands ball up into fists as I make my way towards Alex, it's like I can feel the heat of the anger come out through my ears. Alex sees me and waves at me with a smile, his smile falters when he sees my expression. You can see it in his eyes when he realized the mistake he's made. Once I'm close enough to him, I grab him by the collar and push him against the lockers as he winces in pain from his head getting slammed against a lock, good.
"What the fuck were you thinking? Cheating on her like that? And right in front of her?!" I yell at his face and he visibly flinches.
"I always knew you had a thing for her," he sneered and I punched him up the jaw.
"This is not about me, this is about you and her. You go off and fuck around with," I eye the cheerleader up and down making a dirty look. "that." I frown.
"Well she is defiantly better in bed, better yet I at least got her into bed." He grins and I punch him again across his cheek, I feel a crack under my knuckles, guess I broke his nose.
"Lucas cut it out," I hear a sniffle behind me to see Veronica watching us with red swollen eyes.
"But he-"
"Lucas." She says warningly and I groan letting go of Alex as he drops to the floor whining in pain.
"He deserved it." is all I say.
