Once the whole family reunion was over each one of them went to a room , either the guest rooms or the main ones.
I had to leave because my parents were in town so i was excited to go back home, i said my goodbyes and left.
My hair swings side to side while i walk , my hazel eyes glued on the way. Once i got there i hurried inside and looked around.
"Mom, dad?" I called out with a soft smile making my way to their room "im-" when i opened the door i saw a tiny piece of paper in the bed that inmediatly made me sigh. I picked it up and read it.
Hey sweetheart sorry for not saying it earlier but we just got called down to las vegas for some work im sorry we wont be able to be here by your birthday , we left your credit card on the table with some money for you to buy yourself whatever you want and some gifts in the couch.
I know we promised but sometimes things happen , and there is no way out.

By the time i finished reading i already knew this was gonna happen not like they even care that much about me or care about anything i do with my life. I went to the living room and saw the gift boxes on the couch.
I didnt even touched them, i tried to call alex multiple times but it would send me to voice mail every time so i checked his insta stories , and of course he was at a party with friends. Oh well i hope he is having a good time then.
Catalina is probably watching movies or texting guys with Livvy while they gossip and she doesnt rlly see her much so this should be their night.
So i did what i know how to do best , fix the things myself so i made a small cake with the things that were around the kitchen , ya know a lil bit of this and a lil bit of that? But in the end it turned out great even tho i really couldnt even take it out if the mold. Wow i must really suck as an actual cook, i laugh at myself before decorating it with a simole happy birthday and a drip of dark melted chocolate.
My phone lighted up so i put it in the table against the wall for it to stand still and answered a call , videocall
"Hey ," the voice said and u could realize it was lucas, i took a candle and placed it on top of the cake.
"So uhm are your parents there yet?" He asks and i shake my head before telling him everything, once i was done he had a smirk on his face "oh well i guess i have to stay on call with you so you dont feel lonely" he says and i smiled, then the clock striked midnight and i blew my candle, maybe theres no one with me rn but on the other side of the phone lucas is dancing and singing for me.
