• Chapter 65

A second.

Just a second later, Jeno and Jaemin lost their balance. The force of the pull and their own weight were pushing them back until they were no longer touching the ground. Until they were hanging in the air helplessly.

Without a moment's thought, Renjun and Jisung ran after them, towards the window. No hesitation before they jumped out, vanishing into thin air before appearing again right beneath the two boys a second later.

Jaemin barely noticed that arm that slung itself around him and he barely noticed that his head was pressed against someone else's chest. He barely noticed any of it.

But he heard the racing heartbeat and the air rush past his ears sharply and then the thud - the thud that echoed through the air when their bodies hit the ground and Jisung's heart skipping a beat.

Surprised and confused, Jaemin looked up to where the pain-filled groan was coming from. His eyes quickly landed on Jisung who was lying beneath him, eyes shut tightly.

Neither of the four had noticed that some of the boys followed them down.

"Are you okay?" Doyoung asked hurriedly as he carefully pulled Jaemin off Jisung and simultaneously ordered Kun and Taeil to go check on Jeno and Renjun.

"I'm okay," Jaemin quickly assured. His neck and back hurt and he was shaking from shock. But he guessed that besides that, "I'm fine."

Doyoung looked him up and down. "Are you sure?"

Yet he didn't reply. Instead, he looked at Jeno who seemed equally confused and surprised as him. Then he looked down at Jisung.

Taeyong pulled Jaemin to the side while Doyoung helped Jisung sit up. He pushed out a sharp 'tsk'.

"That was dangerous," Doyoung muttered. He ran his hand over Jisung's head and limbs and also quickly glimpsed over to Kun only to see him do the exact same thing, whilst Taeil was looking after Jeno.

"I didn't have much of a choice," Jisung mumbled in return. "I'm dizzy."

"Are you surprised? You fell down three floors."

"Yeah," he said under his breath. "I really hated that."

Renjun hummed next to them, rubbing his neck. "Me too."

"Something's wrong with Renjun's leg," Kun said to Doyoung who looked at the boy and his painfully twisted leg.

"Great," the doctor muttered and glared at the boy who quickly raised his hands.

"Jisung has blood running down his head so why do you only comment on my condition?" he pouted.

Jisung raised a brow in question. "My head's bleeding?" he asked as he tried to feel with his hand where it was coming from.

Doyoung hummed. "Yeah, you fell right onto a stone so it-" but he stopped himself in the middle of explaining when he suddenly frowned. "How did you not notice that?"

Jisung just shrugged. He took Doyoung's hand to help him get back up on his feet. Letting out another low groan, Jisung looked over to Renjun who seemed to struggle just the same.

"My back hurts," Jisung mumbled.

"Let me repeat myself," Doyoung began. "You fell down three floors. You can be happy that you didn't break anything. Your body might be strong but you will still hurt yourself."

Jisung smiled awkwardly. "Yeah, I know." And with that he turned away, movements a little stiff and clumsy as he tried to fully regain his orientation.
