Jisung ran a hand through his hair. He was tired of worrying.
If anything else happens, I'll just wait for you again.
"Idiot," he muttered to himself, thoughts going wild about where she could be.
Standing in front of the entrance to a frequently visited public park, the boy waited. The sun long swallowed up by the horizon, he started to get fidgety. It had been more than a day since he had last seen Cho-a.
Behind Jisung, heels clicked against the cold asphalt, sound lonely in the quiet night air. He turned around and quickly spotted Young-hee.
She wore her typical smile; pretty yet it felt awfully fake.
"Jisung," she greeted happily as she stopped before him. She looked him up and down, raised a brow, smirking softly. "You look good."
Jisung ignored her.
"Where is she?"Young-hee hesitated before taking a step back, a click behind her. She gave the older one a judging look, sighed.
"I only just got here and you are talking about some other girl already?" she questioned, sounding somewhat offended.
The boy barely reacted. He stood still, unimpressed. He kept his emotions back as good as he could.
"You kidnapped her."A car rushed by the street next to them. Young-hee's eyes fell onto it as it moved. Fast, far away, gone. When she couldn't see it anymore there was a second in which she wondered where it went and where it was heading.
Didn't he ever feel like that about her? He didn't care?
A flat exhale of warm breath clashed against the night air and she looked back at him.
"So what?" she asked. She tried to match Jisung's disinterest as if it fit her when it didn't. "You wouldn't have talked to me hadn't I done that."
"Isn't that enough?" he asked, paused, looked at her intently, wondering if it was even worth wasting words over. "I dislike you so much that you need to do shit like that to get me to talk to you."
"And?"
He almost laughed. "Are you delusional or dumb?"
Hurt, it took her a moment to regained her smile.
"Don't overreact." Another step back, another click on the asphalt. She turned around swiftly, the dress she was wearing moved along smoothly. "Let's go."Jisung hesitated.
"Where?""For a walk only," she said. "We need to talk."
So they walked. Slowly, as if they were used to it. Just a stroll through the city, eyes on the occasional passersby, the unique-looking shop windows that stood between ordinary ones. The rhythmic clicking of Young-hee shoes accompanied them.
"Where were you all this time?"
Young-hee raised a brow.
"Why?" she asked him mockingly. "Missed me?"Jisung sighed, not minding her much.
"I thought you were going to cause problems.""So you were worried about me," she concluded as if it made sense. She smiled to herself in satisfaction, quickly realising that the boy was pretty much ignoring her.
It's because he knew there was no use in arguing and there was no use in talking to her when she was behaving like this. He knew her too well. It felt bothersome to him.
