17. Punishment

Shoto dropped me off home.

I waved him goodbye before entering my apartment.

I put my keys on the kitchen table and made my way to my room. I buried my face in my pillow and squealed. "I did not just kiss Shoto" I said to myself in disbelief. I can't believe this really happened.

I checked my phone. It was dinner time. I cooked myself a meal and relaxed on the couch for a few hours.

I started getting tired after a while and decided to finish some last minute homework before going to bed.

My alarm went off the next morning.

I was excited to go to school today, despite not being able to talk to Shoto there.

I got ready and quickly ate breakfast before leaving.

As I walked outside, I saw a car in front of my apartment. I frowned.

No way Shoto really came to pick me up for school.

I hesitantly walked up to his car and he rolled down the window. "We're going to be late if you keep standing there like that" he said. I opened the door and got in. "I hope you have a good plan so people won't see us" I said and fastened my seat belt.

"I don't" he casually said before starting the car. "You what-" I panicked as he drove off. "Shoto we can't be seen together" I pointed out.

"What's the worst thing that can happen?" he said as he took a turn. "I don't know" I said. "What was your punishment by the way?" I asked. He didn't answer. "I'm talking to you" I said and looked at him.

"Nothing important, I just have to do some chores" he said. I didn't believe his words. "You can be honest with me" I said. "I am" he said. I decided to trust him for now.

After a while he parked the car and got out. He went around and opened the door for me as well. It was a small gesture but it made my heart flutter.

As I got out of the car, I noticed that we weren't at school. "Where are we?" I asked. "I parked behind the school. We can go our separate ways so it'll look like we came to school individually" he said. "Smart" I commented and nudged his shoulder.

We both went our own ways and went to school.

As I entered the classroom, everyone looked at me. "Hey y/n I hope you're doing well" Kirishima said. I smiled at him. "I'm fine thanks" I replied before finding a seat and sitting down.

After a while Shoto entered the classroom. It was the first time that he went to school since quite a few days. The looks he received were judgemental.

"You finally dare to show yourself again after what you did" Denki said. "He was probably too busy hurting people" Mineta said. I saw the anger in Shoto's eyes. I really wanted to step in but I decided to stay quiet. More people were making remarks towards him.

The teacher finally entered class and everyone sat down. "I have a note here from the principal. Y/n y/l/n and Shoto Todoroki are not allowed to sit together" he spoke.

"Deserved for making us watch such a lame fight the other day" Bakugo said. "How about you shut up" I commented. The class looked at me surprised. "I will be starting class" the teacher said.

After last period it was finally time to go home. I packed my stuff and left. I was the last to leave the classroom.

As I entered the hallway, I heard a lot of noise and voices. "I heard Shoto's punishment is pretty bad" Midoriya said. "Yeah apparently he's not allowed to take part in the final exam for combat class" Iida said. "I also heard he's not allowed to attend any combat classes anymore" Mina said.

Not taking part of the exam means an immediate fail. If he fails, that means he will have to attend summer school and take extra classes.

"I heard he's not allowed to go on an internship for the entire school year" Denki said. "Damn that one must hurt. Not going on an internship is very damaging for your hero image. Everyone will question his absence" Kirishima said. "Especially since he's Endeavor's son" he added.

This was unfair. Shoto didn't deserve all this. I clenched my fists as I turned around and made my way to the principal's office.

I knocked on the door and went inside.

"I'm sorry for interrupting but-" I said but stopped as I saw the principal sitting behind his desk. Shoto was sitting in a chair across from him.

"Y/n y/l/n" the principal said. "As you can see I'm here with someone who you probably don't want to see. It's best if you come back later" he spoke. "W-Why is he here?" I asked nervously.

The principal signed a piece of paper.

"I think this would make you very happy" he said before holding it up.

My eyes widened.

"Expelled"
