It's been a week since I bashed into the principal's office. Today we were going to hear whether Shoto could stay or not. I was confident that they would let him stay. I really didn't want him to leave.
We haven't talked ever since that day. I missed hearing his voice. He was blessed with a voice that was soothing and comforting. Every time he spoke, I felt like all my worries were melting away.
I entered the school building and went straight to the principal's office. Shoto was already there. I didn't know what to say so I just stayed quiet.
"Take a seat" the principal told us. We sat down and waited for his final decision.
"I have based my final decision on rule 4 and 11 of our school book of regulations and rules. Todoroki has violated both of these rules. Based on the knowledge that we have about the incident and the consequences that it had. The only option that we have as a school is to expel you" the principal said and looked at Shoto.
"I hereby have to declare that you, Shoto Todoroki, are no longer allowed to enter school property. We have contacted your father and he will explain all the restrictions that you will face right now" he said.
I looked at Shoto. Nothing. His facial expression was completely blank. I couldn't tell whether he was in shock or completely unfazed by the decision.
"I understand" Shoto said. I looked at him confused. "What do you mean you understand?" I asked mad. "You don't deserve to be expelled. You didn't do anything wrong" I said.
"Miss y/l/n, as Shoto's father is about to arrive, I recommend you to leave. If you have any further comments you can contact the school council" the principal said.
"But this is unfair!" I said. "Y/n please" Shoto said. "Just go" he added. I looked at him. Why did his eyes look so empty. There wasn't a single sign of emotion on his face. As if he was numb.
"Do you agree with the decision?" I asked him. He didn't answer. "Answer me" I said. "Yes" he said and looked at the ground. "It's what I deserve" he added. My eyes widened. "But you don't deserve t-" I started but he cut me off. "Leave" he said. His voice sounded commanding and dark.
I grabbed my bag and was about to leave when the door opened. There stood Endeavor. He was, like I said before, huge. I took a step aside so he could enter the principal's office. "So you're the reason my son got expelled" he said and looked at me.
I felt my breath hitch in my throat. I couldn't move a single muscle in my body. Why was I scared?
"I told you she was no good" he said and looked at Shoto. "Didn't I tell you to train with people of your own level" he said. With every word I could see him getting angrier. "Of course she wouldn't last against you in a match. And now you're getting expelled for winning against her" he said.
"I didn't win" Shoto said. "I lost" he said. "I lost my dignity, my pride, my self respect, my respect towards the people around me, my rationality.. I lost everything" he said. I finally saw some emotions on his face. "You lost all of that the moment you decided to befriend her" Endeavor said. "How could you be so stupid" he added. "Do you know how much potential you have" he said. "or should I say how much potential you had" he added.
Shoto remained silent. "Give me the papers so I can give this boy a good lecture at home" he said. "These are all the rules and the ones Shoto violated" the principal said and and handed Endeavor a pile of papers. "And these are the consequences and restrictions that Shoto will face" he added and gave him a few more papers.
"I hope you're happy" Endeavor said and dropped the papers onto Shoto's lap. He still remained silent. "I bet you're happy" Endeavor said. "You never wanted to become a hero. You were too busy being mad at me and disrespecting me all your life. All I ever did was for you. And this is how you repay me" he said.
Shoto balled his fists. "Are you happy now?" Endeavor asked. "Come on say it" he added. "You're happy aren't you?" he said. Shoto got up from his seat. "OF COURSE IM NOT HAPPY" he snapped at his father. "All you've ever done for me was for yourself. To turn me into whatever you wanted me to be. I want to be a hero. I've always wanted that" he said. His voice got shaky at the end. "You never looked up to me as a hero-" Endeavor started but Shoto cut him off. "I have always looked up to All Might" Shoto said. "A true hero who cares about people" he added.
Endeavor grabbed Shoto by his arm. "You want to be like All Might huh? How cute" he said and tightened his grip on Shoto's arm. "How about we finish this at home" he added with a smile before grabbing all the papers and pushing them into Shoto's hands.
"Thanks for your time" Endeavor told the principal before leaving the office along with Shoto.
The principal looked at me who had been standing in the back the entire time. "Miss y/l/n please do not feel bad about anything. I recommend you to-" he started but I grabbed my bag and left.
I couldn't stand to hear anything more.
