Emi look up at Shota as she felt his hand move cautiously. Shota in the other hand hoped he didn't wake her up-but unfortunately did.
"Sorry to wake you up, Emi," he muttered in regret, turning his eyes to Emi. Emi shook her head telling him there is nothing to be sorry for. She laid a hand on his shoulder rubbing it softly, "You need anything?" Shota shook his head weakly, "No."
"Are you okay?" she asked worriedly but tried her best not to make it too obvious. Aizawa nodded and took a while before saying, "My chest hurt."
"But it's okay though Emi, nothing to worry about," he continued immediately. Emi turned a soft smile. Despite the fact that Shota is hurting, this right here is only appopriate-parts of her felt grateful now that Shota actually talks about it, although she'll never get used to it and wished there's so much she can do. "Shh...I know, I know," she whispered-resting her chin close to his shoulder as she looked at him up close.
Shota glanced at the clock, the sun's almost up. He smirked at the thought how it's the longest sleep he had in weeks.
"You were talking in your sleep by the way," he uttered grinning.
Emi's eyes widen, "Ha? What did I say?" Shota giggled at her response and decided he'd like to tease her even more, "I'm not telling you."
Emi squinted her eyes, her chest pounding as she fell silent. Did I say something embarassing? I did feel like I dreamt of something but can't recall what exactly, she thought.
"Sure it was very funny, I actually laughed," he continued, smirking.
"What did I say!" She said impatiently. The more she tried to remember the further she is from knowing.
"I mean you said it, you should know better." Emi sighed, sticking her chin on the railings for support.
"Emi," she heard him say, "Do you think I can go out of here just for a little while?" his tone turned serious as if that was the only thing he ever wanted.
She felt sorry for him. He used to do patrols and all hero job and now he's stuck in a hospital room for months till who know how long. But above all that, she's not sure if that's a good idea. "I'm not sure about that," she muttered. His skin were paler probably due to how long he's been away from the sun if not because of his condition. He's loosing weight, his arms looks weak. The only time he look well is when he sleep. After that, he's back to the Shota Emi wish was just a dream.
"That's okay, I think can stay here a little longer," he muttered with a glimpse of dissapointment but managed a soft closed-eyes smile.
"How's your son?" he asked teasingly, quickly changing the topic. Emi rolled her eyes but knew by 'son' he meant Kaneko.
"Neko-chan?" she assured. Shota nodded in reply-grinning. "He's alright actually, I don't know why they won't let him out yet."
Shota fell silent. Did Tsuki not tell her? He thought before quickly changing the topic (again).
"Tsuki haven't visit in days, you know why?" he asked-actually curious. The last time he visited was the morning after 'the fight'. At least that's what he thought. Little did he know Itsuki checked on him every single day, on every time-off after each shift ends.
...
"You know when I was an intern Shota-san was the only patient who sees me as a doctor and not some extras," Itsuki uttered, lying to the backrest with his hands folded, "patients back then hated it when they're being treated by interns thinking they'll just be some experimental rat since you know-interns don't have so much experience as doctors, they're new after all." Emi nodded in reply, although she couldn't relate so much with it nor that she understood how it felt to be one.
He chuckled at his nostalgic thougts, "He used to personally request me during visit," he said, "who on the right mind would request an intern?" Itsuki turned his eyes to Emi.
Emi didn't reply much. It's his turn to talk, she thought. Itsuki wasn't the type to talk a lot anyway.
"But I can't cure him, what am I supposed to do?" he muttered slowly, looking down. "He trusted me, yet there's nothing I can do to help him."
He felt soothing hand rubbing his back and attemp to look back to it before realizing it was Emi's. He laid a hand on Emi's shoulder now turning a serious look as she stared deep at her bright green eyes. Emi startled confused. "He got 24 days, make him happy will you?"
Emi's eyes widen, "What do you mean?"
