Oh my gosh i think to myself. What the hell was my brother thinking? Now i will be blamed for this stupid act. Ugh stupid, stupid, stupid, why the hell do i have 9 siblings? I angrily think.
“Jaz thank goodness mom is going off again and she’s scaring me,” my little sister Tabitha says who’s 8 says.
I hear the yelling now as i walk up the stairs holding her hand. I find my mother cornering my 12 year old brother Mika. A piece of me wants to run right now and never look back, but the other says “Stop right now, you are the oldest of 8 and Becca isn’t here most likely not ever coming back. Take action and help them.”
“Mom,” i say as nicely and calmly as i can without screaming at our insane mother.
She turns her head towards me and off Mika. She has pure disgust written across it and looks like she took a big dose of her drugs today or over drank.
“Please leave him alone, and talk to me.” By now the whole family, that’s left here which includes everybody but Dad and Becca, has gathered in Mika and Jase’s room.
“What makes you so special as to interrupt my leason for this brat?” She spits at me.
“Because i am the oldest child here without Becca and someone needs to stop you mother.”
“Well congratulations you stopped me.”
“Good now go downstairs I’ll be there in a few,” nowadays i basically treat her as a kid. I turn my head to Mika he’s bawling on the floor
“Mi stop please,” i say in my sweetest voice.
“Why does she d-d-do that?” he chokes out, “I didn’t mean to wash the whites with the darks.”
“Don’t worry I’ll fix it, ok?”
“ok”
“good then i’m going to go downstairs and deal with her. Melia help Mika, Ramsies help me with mom, and Nate help with the youngers.” Time to get this show on the road i thought, tonight there are going to be changes. Downstairs she’s crying more like sobbing her eyes out, i’m almost positive her drugs have almost completed their duty.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” mom chokes,”i can’t help but take them.” Right now i want to strangle her and crush her, she knows that she can stop.
“No, u you can stop and you will i will lock you in the basement if i have to, but you will stop.”
After I’ve said that she looks as though she will fall apart any second. Instead of her answering I leave before she can. I walk to my car open the door and leave. I’m not fazed a bit at what i went through. I turn the radio on which is playing “Story of my Life” by One Direction.
I arrive at a restaurant called Blue Hole, based off of a pond in Markeville 12 miles from here. Once inside i see Cassie Benk and Evan Larn, the most popular couple at school. I choose a seat far away from them and open my notebook. I am writing carefully and placing my words with caution. I don’t want to cause to much attention towards me. But it’s too late they spotted me.
“Oh hey Jazzy!” Cassie says in her annoyingly high pitched perky voice.
“Hi,” i reply almost soundlessly much to interested in writing.
“Mind if we sit with you?” Cassie asks. I want to say NO never ever, but my good side comes around and says:
“Of course!”
“Great! Glad you suddenly showed up!”
“Yep!”
Evan speaks for the first time and his voice is masculine and husky “Well I’ll invite Jase so it can be like a double date.” honestly i want to scream NOOO! i do not want to date unless it’s Ryder, even though i know it won’t happen.
“Oh yes! This is gonna be a fun night!” Squeals Cassie.
“Indeed.”

When Jase arrives we order our food and talk for at least 2 hours. Evan says we should all go to the bowling alley down the road with a built in bar, and of course the others agree left with me being a suck up and saying yes. The bowling alley is lit around the edges with a few lights here in there in the middle. It gives me the creeps and Jase must’ve noticed because he grabs my hand. We end up at the bar all except me getting drunk. Cassie and Evan go off into a corner to do God knows what while Jase hints that we should be in our own. Which i refuse to go. He finally gets bored so he finds a cute blonde with rosie cheeks.
Finally, its time to go. since i’m the only non-drunk one i drive them home in my car. I get to my house around 3 a.m. text Ryder and tell him goodnight. He already texted me goodnight but we always tell each other when we actually go to sleep. I lay awake thinking about Mom, Jase, Ryder, and all the others in my life, which sadly isn’t a lot. Eventually I drift into a restless sleep thanks to the little beer I drank.

I wake up with a horrid headache. Scenes from last night flow through my already clouded brain. Then i hear it a little pound on my door.
“Yes?”
“Can i come in its scary in my room J?” Asks my frightened 6 year old sister, Riley.
i grown sit up but answer her, “Of course come on Ry.” In my family we all have nicknames i have the most because my mother says mine is the most “unique” lucky me i think. Riley walks in a long with Tabitha and Theodore, twins both 8, and Natalie, age 10.
“What are all of you doing in here?” I asked very amazed at them since its 4:08 in the morning.
“We were scared and wanted a big J to save us,” replied Tabitha.
“Scared of what?”
They practically say this in unison, “Mommy,” and like that they are in my bed huddled with me.
