After three long weeks of her absence- and the increasing worry about her well-being, Emiko had finally returned to Kunugigaoka Junior High. The moment she had stepped foot into the room of 3E, she was surrounded by the girls and bombarded with questions about her whereabouts.

"Mizuki!"

"—where have you been?!"

"—it's been three weeks!"

"—are you okay?!"

With one prompt glare, they were all quick to back away.

Maehara was quick to jump to their defence. "H-Hey calm down, they were just worried about you, we all were" he motioned to everyone in the room. "There's no need to be so—"

He let out a small squeal as she aimed the end of her gun at his face, causing everyone to freeze in shock.

Her glare pierced through them all as she looked over them. "Do not act so friendly toward me. You are nothing but junior high children."

"Mizuki, I believe th—" She turned her glare to Korosensei, forcing him to back down upon seeing her deadly expression.

She scoffed, "You're all just insects that keep getting in my way. Remember that your existence means nothing." The weight of her words lingered in the air, leaving an uneasy silence in their wake. Making them wonder what happened for her to revert to the personality she'd had when they first met.

She said nothing as she watched their expressions become more uncomfortable.

"Tsk"

After school

After waiting essentially all day, Karma had waited for all his classmates and teachers to leave for the day so he could finally speak to her in private.

"Emiko" Getting hold of her hand, he had managed to catch her before she disappeared. "Emiko, are you okay?" Of course, he knew that she wasn't okay, but what else could he say to her when she'd ignored him all day? "Ne, Emiko—"

"Stop calling me that" She growled, cutting him off. Karma visibly stiffened.

"Wh—"

"In fact, stop talking to me entirely, Akabane. Your voice is irritating." She watched as his expression fell in hurt. "You mean nothing to me so stop talking." She shook off his hand and turned around, walking away from him as he stood there in confusion and shock.

"Emiko, hold on!" She heard him run after her, but he was too late, she had already climbed out of eyesight- but not earshot. "Emiko!" She clenched her jaw as she listened to him. "Emiko!" He called again, visibly agitated when he couldn't find her. "Emiko, I know you can hear me so come out." When she didn't react, she knew he was becoming more and more upset. "Please" she felt her stomach tighten upon hearing the pain in his voice, "let's just talk..." she closed her eyes in annoyance before taking a deep breath, calming herself. Then she jumped from tree to tree, silently leaving the redhead alone.

"DAMMIT!" She could hear his yell echo for a little

'It's for the best...'

An hour later

As she sat beside his bed, her hands balled into fists around the bed rails. "I'm afraid I'm starting to lose control sensei..." she leaned her head in between her fists. "There's still so much more I need you to teach me. Please..."

Emiko clenched her eyes shut as she held her head in desperation, slowly tugging at the roots of her hair.

"I fear. If you don't wake up soon, it'll be too late" she clenched her jaw. "Wake up. You need to wake up" Tugging at her hair harsher, she felt the uneasiness in her stomach begin to eat at her, "He was right though... I've become weak, all because I allowed someone to become comfortable with me, and pushed everyone away. I was beginning to become weak. That asshole is right. I have become weak" I looked at him and took his hand in mine, "I swear that I'll kill him!! He'll regret ever shooting you Sensei." Her initially monotone expression grew into that of an angered one as she stared at the bandages wrapped around Lovro's body.
