Hannibal opening night

Christine fast walked back to her dressing room for Intermission, her gala skirt weighed her down on her hips making her feel closed in. Once she reached the room she quickly closed the wooden door behind her trying to catch her breath, the brunette leaned against the door trying to keep her wobbling legs from giving out on her.

The soprano calmed herself down after a few moments, taking a few deep breaths she looked around her dressing room. The presence of her angel lingered in the air like a ghost, she hoped he would be proud of her.

Her forest green eyes landed over to her vanity, a blood red rose with a velvet black ribbon wrapped around the stem. Christine smiled as she made her way over to the vanity, she loved how her angel would send her roses, it was strangely comforting. She picked up a small note next to it and began to read

"My angel you have done unearthly so far,
your voice soared through the air
just as I have taught you.
Your father would be proud.

-Your Angel of music"

"mademoiselle, one minute" a stagehand peeped in and told her, Christine turned and nodded in response as he left. She put the note down still smiling like an idiot, "Thank you" she whispered looking up at the ceiling, knowing that her angel was somewhere near. With that Christine left her dressing room, feeling a lot better than she was 10 minutes ago. The soprano made her way back to the stage, excited to start act 2.
