Anakin turned his comm off. Everything had just changed in an instant. He felt responsible for what was happening. The Chancellor wanted him, for a reason that he knew was because he had made himself a target. He had made it easy for Palpatine to use him to get what he wanted to accomplish.

" Master?" the sound of Ahsoka's voice broke him away from his guilt. " What are we going to do? We can't go back now, Palpatine needs you to complete his plan." she cured herself for making it seem that it was a choice he had to make, even though she knew he would never choose to accept the fate of a life of darkness and evil, but it was the truth.

" We should go back to the Resolute and then figure out what to do from there. With the rest of our troops, we can stage a mission and hopefully put an end to all of this." Obi Wan interjected his opinion into the silence.

Rex and Kix agreed with the idea, Cody on the other hand looked like a shiny who hadn't been paying attention during the briefing. Needless to say, he was beyond confused.

" I'm sorry, I've seemed to have missed something." he started, double checking everyone's face's to make sure he wasn't going crazy.

" The Chancellor is the Sith Lord that we have been looking for." Obi Wan said as if it were normal.

" He also was behind planting chips into our heads. When activated, they make us want to kill the Jedi." Kix added.

Cody only nodded. It was a lot to take in, but there wasn't time to spare to ask for the whole story.

" So, how are these...chips, activated then?" he looked between all the people in the room who had more knowledge about it than he did.

Rex tried to recall anything that would be helpful when he was under his trance back at the temple. He had a different chip than everyone else in his head, which was triggered in a way that no other clone's was, or at least at he knew of.

" I don't know. I heard it in my head, but it has to be different than everyone else's since mine was replaced with a 'more enhanced' one." The dangerous part was how were they going to save the rest of his brothers from the control if they didn't understand how they operated.

" Why don't we get you three's out while we're here?" Ahsoka suggested, to which Anakin shot down.

" Not the best idea. The Kaminoans had a part to play in all of this. We don't know who to trust and besides, even if it were to be successful, there are millions of clones here." he pointed out. " I agree with Obi Wan, the best plan is to head back to the Resolute, at least there the numbers are smaller."

" That does seem to be the smartest choice." Kix touched the side of his head. " I could preform a brain scan and remove them from as many, hopefully all who are on board."

" Then it's settled. We must hurry, before thing take turn for the worst." Obi Wan sat in the pilot seat, setting course for space.

Once back on the Resolute, there was little time to waste.

" Ahsoka, get Rex, Kix and Cody to the medical bay. I'm going to contact the temple and see how things are going." Anakin then placed a firm hand on her shoulder. He gave her a look that she knew too well. Normally when he had a feeling that something was going to go wrong. " Be careful Snips." he said before rushing to the bridge along with Obi Wan.

" Rex, Kix, Cody, come with me." she ushered the three to the far end of the ship.

The door slid open and Kix immediately got to work prepping for surgeries.

" Rex?" she asked, gripping his hand and holding it with much strength, as if scared she would lose him and never get him back.

" Everything is going to be fine." he soothed, reading her mind. He squeezed her hand, hoping to give her some reassurance.

" Captain? I think you deserve to go first." Kix said, pointing to the table.

Rex took a deep breath. Since being experimented on, he grown a new fear of med bays. He never liked them to begin with, but in the past weeks, he had developed an intense hatred for them after being tortured in one.

" I just want this thing out." he muttered before hopping on the bed. Kix didn't have to looked hard. There was already a cut on the Captain's forehead that marked where it was inserted. The procedure was quick. Ahsoka never let go of Rex's hand, nor did he let her. He woke up a few minutes later with another bandage neatly placed over the opened wound.

" 'Soka?" he asked groggily as the medicine wore off.

" I'm here. You're fine. Kix got the chip out. You don't have to worry about it anymore." Ahsoka beamed. Rex was finally free.
