Fives patch up the last clone and sent him off to await orders from General Kenobi. He glanced over at Kix, who had just begun to stir. He must have really been tired. Fives then paused for a moment, now that he was thinking about it, Kix would probably be angry at him for not waking him up.

Fives sighed and walked over to the sleeping medic. He lightly tapped his shoulder, which in response he got a quiet groan.

" Come on Kix, nap time's over." he poked at his brother again.

" W-what?" Kix mumbled, his eyes opening slightly. " Oh it's you." he said a bit more loudly, sounding almost annoyed for a reason that Fives couldn't figure out.

" You know that's not a nice thing to say to the person who took over your job after you passed out." the ARC said in a stuck up tone.

" What? How long was I out?"

" A little over an hour, not too long. I was able to remove the rest of the chips from those that Commander Tano and I brought in."

Kix got up from the chair and stretched his limbs. " I'm surprised that you didn't accidentally kill someone." he scoffed, " you should have woken me up earlier. Like you said, it is my job after all."

" You obviously needed rest. It's not good for your health to overwork yourself." Fives pointed out, getting an irritated look from his brother.

" Oh are you a medic now?"

Fives gave him a playful smile, " Yes, I am."

Kix rolled his eyes, " You're a handful, you know that right."

" Get told that almost everyday." just then his comm started buzzing.

" Fives! How's it coming on your end." the voice of someone running said on the other side.

" Good, General. We've finished and sent them to General Kenobi."

" That's great to hear because I need backup. Make your way to the brig. Is Kix there?"

Kix took Fives' arm to answer, " Here, General. What's wrong?"

" No time to explain, I just need you to bring some medical supplies just in case."

" Yes sir, we're on our way." he said, ending the transmission.

Rex thrust his hands out in front of him. An invisible force threw Cody off balance, causing him to stumble and miss his shot as it hit the source of the object holding Ahsoka.

Rex stood up on wobbly legs. He looked down at his hands in disbelief.

" D-did I do that.." he asked no one in particular.

" Rex. " Ahsoka reached out and touched his trembling hand. She didn't know what to say.

" So, you're one of them." Cody slurred, getting to his feet once more.

Rex and Ahsoka turned around. Cody pointed his blaster at the two weaponless clone and Togruta.

" Don't do it." Rex said, his gaze on his old friend. The sound of the click told him that Cody wasn't going to follow through. He quickly lunged at the commander and tackled him to the ground. Rex managed to get the blaster out of his hands.

" 'Soka!" he called, chucking it to her.

" How could you Rex! You betrayed your own brothers, for- for a Jedi!"

The words hurt him a little. Though he knew he didn't really mean it, there was always truth behind a comment, even if his vod wasn't in the right state of mind. Rex's short hesitation was long enough for Cody to land a punch to his jaw. He was able to keep him held down and punch him repeatedly in the face.

" Rex!" Ahsoka used the force to pick up the controlled clone into the air and hold him against the wall.

" No! Let me go!" Cody screamed. Ahsoka looked at him with sad eyes. She dropped him to the ground and waved her hand in front of him.

" You're safe now." she said just before he went limp.

She stared at his sleeping body. She couldn't even imagine what it would be like for him after they put him under. She wondered if he would remember anything, or if he would pick up right where he left of before the chip took over. She guessed they would have to just wait and see. The only thing that mattered was that he was free.

" Are you alright?" Ahsoka knelt down next to Rex who was still on the floor.

" Yeah...yeah, I'm alright." there was a short silence as both were thinking of the same thing.

" We need to talk about-"

" I don't know what-"

Both said simultaneously. Ahsoka smiled, " It's okay, we can talk about it later." she took his hand in hers and gave it a light kiss. Rex placed his arms around her. He was glad it was all over, or at least for them. There was a whole galaxy left, but knowing that his legion and Cody's battalion were going to be alright was good enough.

" I'm glad you're safe, but I wish I could have done more to warn you, then maybe things wouldn't have escalated like they did."

Ahsoka rubbed the side of his face with her thumb, being careful of the bruises. " What do you mean, you did warn me." she looked at him in slight confusion. If she remembered clearly, she recalled hearing his voice shout at her before she entered. She blamed herself for not reacting fast enough or being aware that it could be a trap, though Anakin had told her it could.

" I couldn't possibly have. Cody had his hand over my mouth. Even though I did yell, you wouldn't have been able to hear me."

" But then how...oh." it must have been their bond. It happened back on Kamino. How could she forget something so important.

" What?" Rex questioned.

" It's a force ability. When two people create a bond, they can talk to each other without physically talking."

" Hmm, I see how that could come in handy."

" Ahsoka! Rex!" a loud voice echoed through the empty corridor.

" We should go greet him. I bet he's worried sick."

Rex nodded, hoisting Cody over his shoulder.

Everything would be okay now, hopefully.
