You Promised (Rexsoka)

Chapter Seventy-Three

      The Resolute pulled out of hyperspace. Obi Wan gazed out the front window, admiring the planet from afar. The last time he visited Mandalore wasn't quite pleasant. Now with changing times he could only assume that the trip would have it's fair share of troubles and disagreements.

He folded his hands behind his back as the ship entered the atmosphere. He would be lying to say, despite the circumstances, he was glad to be able to see Satine again, not to mention her nephew, Korkie. He found himself very fond of the boy, treating him almost like his own.

He was so focused on his own thoughts that he didn't hear the doors swoosh open.

" General." Obi Wan turned around and came face to face with his commander. He couldn't stop himself from beaming.

" Cody, it's good to see you well again." he greeted his friend.

" It's good to be back." the clone nodded, " I heard we're making a stop on Mandalore." he said, raising an eyebrow.

" Yes, as you know, I have many friends on several planets." the master skeptically said, " And out of all the planets, this one was the best option."

" Logically yes, due to the fact that Mandalore has decided to remain neutral."

" Exactly, Commander. The friends just happen to be a plus." Obi Wan raised his thumb to his bread, scratching it.

" If you say so, General." Cody stood at ease next to his Jedi.

Obi Wan gave a side glance at him, an annoyed smirk appearing on his lips. Something was telling him he shouldn't have told Cody his secret.

     Rex was nervous. He honestly didn't know why, but he was. All of the scenarios of if his brothers found out he was force sensitive made him nauseous. Would they not want to be around him anymore? After what Krell did on Umbara, would they fear he might turn out to be like...no, he wasn't like Krell, but still the thoughts messed with his mind.

He found himself struggling to enter the hangar. He took in deep breaths to calm himself before heading in.

" Shut up, Jesse. I know where they go." Five's voice rang out. Rex watched as the two troopers argued over where to place a storage crate.

" You di'kut. Since when have we put them over there." Jesse pointed back to the direction that he was pulling. " They're supposed to go there."

" Would you two stop arguing." Tup kept his gaze on the data pad in his hands, listening to his two ori'vods.

" I agree with Tup." the two clones turned their heads and saw their captain walking up to them.

" Hey Cap, how's Cody?" Fives let go of the crate without telling Jesse, who ended up crashing to the ground.

" FIVES!" the ARC yelled.

" Oops. " Fives shrugged his shoulders, smirking. Rex face palmed. Those were some of his best men in the legion.

" Cody's fine." he answered his previous question. " You know," he started, helping Jesse to his feet, " when General Skywalker said he gave you guys a job, I didn't think you'd be able to mess it up this much."

Fives gave him a dramatic hurt expression. " Such little faith, Captain!" he pressed his hand to his heart, as if he was wounded.

Rex rolled his eyes. " Fives, go make yourself useful by assisting Kix if he needs it or find Skywalker or Kenobi. Anyone."

" Fine. Wasn't havin much fun here anyways." he glared at Jesse before storming off.

" You might want to go with him, Tup." Rex chuckled at the ARC's attitude.

" You got it, Captain." Tup quickly chased after his brother.

Rex sighed, he was tired and was looking forward to hopefully getting rest when they landed.

Jesse could tell something was on Rex's mind. He'd known him long enough to tell when his vod is stressed about something, but then again, it wasn't like Rex to spill his feelings and inner worries.

" Are you okay?" he asked. Like he thought, his captain gave him a simple nod, meaning he didn't want to dive further into the conversation.

" Alright, let's move these behind that stack." Rex gestured to the spot behind him

" Ha, I told Fives that's where they went." Jesse let out a huff of victory, making the tired clone smile.

I don't know about you, but I just love some brother bickering XD
