You Promised (Rexsoka)

Chapter Seventy

     Anakin felt something off. The force was sending strong signals which he couldn't figure out what it was. His mind was racing. He assumed it had to be Ahsoka. He had sent her into a trap willingly.

" Sir!" Jesse said as the sound of a blaster went off, ringing through the hall

There it was again. The force signature spiked once more.

" Ahsoka! Rex!" Anakin cried upon approaching the cell, skidding to a stop, running into the room. He saw Ahsoka and Rex standing together, Rex with Cody slung over his shoulder.

His eyes quickly scanned them both for injuries and was relieved when he only found a few scrapes and bruises noticeable.

" Are you two okay?"

Ahsoka looked at Cody. " Yeah, now we are. He needs to get his chip out. I assume most of the clones have gotten theirs out?"

" Fives and Kix told me they got through everyone. There might be a few more, but with our numbers it won't be too long til the whole ship is clean."

" Good. We should meet back up with Master Kenobi."

Anakin placed hand on his padawan, stopping her before she could exit. " Snips, is there something you want to tell me?"

" Maybe later Master, it's not my business to share at the moment." Ahsoka brushed off his question and followed Rex and Jesse.

It wasn't long until they spotted two familiar clones leading a group behind them.

" Nice to see you Commander." Fives greeted them, followed by Kix.

" Good to see you too, Fives." she smiled, " Is General Kenobi still on the bridge?"

" Yes sir." Kix responded, " I believe that he was able to change courses. We are now on our way to Mandalore, where hopefully we might have some allies."

" Mandalore does seem like the best place to go. Especially with Master Kenobi's ties to the planet and certain...duchesses." she glanced at Anakin who was trying to conceal a smirk.

" We have Commander Cody who still needs his chip removed along with a few just to the left of the hall." Anakin pointed out. " It may not be a lot compared to the entire Republic, but one full ship of inhibitor chip free clones is more than enough to make an impact."

" Once we reach Mandalore we can discuss what to do from there and how to help the falling Republic and possibly formulate a plan to retrieve more brothers." Jesse said. " How much longer did you say until we arrive, Kix?"

" Not sure, but probably not much longer."

Rex readjusted the commander over his shoulder. " In that case I better get Cody under." he started walking off.

" I'll go with you." Ahsoka piped up, jogging over to his side. Rex nodded, glad for her to tag along. He had many questions he needed to ask her regarding the previous events back in the cell.

" Sounds good." Anakin watched as the two disappeared out of sight. They were definitely hiding something.

" Something wrong, General?" Fives noticed his general was suddenly confused and even a bit annoyed.

" No, it's...actually, has Rex or Ahsoka said anything to you?"

Fives was taken aback. " Uh no sir, not recently." he looked at Kix who also shook his head.

" It's okay, I just feel something off with both of them. Like they're trying to hide something important." Anakin decided to let it drop for the meantime, but he would get his answers.

Sorry this chapter kinda sucked and was short. I was having trouble trying to think of what to write since I don't plan things out before and hope that a good plot comes to my mind as I'm writing✌🏽 I'm finally on summer break!!!!!!
