The next day, it was thirty minutes past noon, Jaemin had texted Jeno that he should be arriving at the orphanage in about ten minutes to which the older answered, saying he'll be waiting by the gates.
Jaemin had arrived at the front entrance of the gates, wearing his blue jeans and an exotic button up shirt. He spotted Jeno who was staring down at his phone, and shyly made his way over to him.
"Hey," Jaemin greeted quietly, a blush evident on both his cheeks.
Jeno raised his head up from his phone, noticing the smaller and smiled widely.
"Hi! Let's go see Jihoon, shall we?" Jeno suggest, gesturing his hand toward the front door to which Jaemin nodded.
Jeno opened the gate for Jaemin to walk in as the younger blushed even more and finally made their way inside, greeting with the children of all different kinds of age ranges.
For a few hours, the two males stayed at the orphanage, taking care of the children and playing with them before it was time to leave.
"Go now, bunny?" Jihoon asked Jaemin who was seated between him and Jeno.
Jaemin nodded his head and displayed a small smile.
"Yeah, baby. I have to go now," Jaemin responded, Jeno admiring Jaemin's care for the child.
"You go too, Nono?" Jihoon stared at Jeno besides Jaemin.
"Yeah, bud. Don't worry though, we'll be back before you know it," Jeno ruffled the small boy's hair whose eyes were glistening and tears prepared to fall.
Jihoon jumped on Jaemin's lap, hugging the older tightly with his small arms around his neck, crying.
"Y-you keep leaving. W-what if don't c-come back?" Jihoon sobbed into the crook of Jaemin's neck, wetting his neck but he didn't care at the moment.
Jeno pat the boy's back as he was still clinging onto Jaemin. Jaemin rocked him side to side, shushing the boy.
"Don't cry, Jihoon. We'll be back, I promise," Jaemin reassured the smaller.
Finally after serval minutes of convincing the young boy that they'll be back again soon, Jihoon bid his goodbye to both Jaemin and Jeno.
Poor Jihoon. Jaemin knows what the young four year old boy has been through. Jaemin wants to believe that when Jihoon was only two years old, he was left outside on a busy bridge.
But no, Jaemin witnessed the woman, who Jaemin suspects is the mother and his confirmation was correct, trying to push the young baby off of the bridge. The child trying to fight back and hold onto the railing.
Jaemin just so happened to be passing by at that time to go take care of his internship. But as soon as he saw that, the baby screaming and crying while the mother was scolding the child, Jaemim quickly ran over to them as soon as the woman pushed the child down, into the ocean.
Jaemin, panicking and trying to stay calm at the same time, climbed over the ledge and dived into the water which was hundreds of feet deep. The depth of the sea was scratched out of Jaemin's mind and all that he was focusing on was saving that child.
The woman will be dealt with later. He didn't care that he still had his phone, keys, wallet and other things on him as well as his clothing with him.
He pulled the unconscious baby out of the water, and swam to the shore, which fortunatley wasn't that far away from where the baby had ended up.
Carrying the baby and placing him on the rocks, Jaemin made sure the child was still breathing. And once he knew for sure that he was, he quickly hoisted the child into his arms again and sprinted to the nearest hospital.
The doctors at the hospital saw Jaemin frantically run inside, soaked and distraught and immediately took the unconscious baby to the emergency room.
Jaemin was also checked since he has minor cuts on his hands and was given a change of clothes.
"Is he okay?" Jaemin asked the doctor as he stood outside the baby's door, looking inside.
"Yes, he'll be okay. Do you have any relation to him?" The doctor questioned and Jaemin shook his head.
"No, his mother was trying to get rid of him..." Jaemin replied sadly and the doctor displayed a shocked face.
Jaemin walked inside the child's room and sat near him on the seat beside the hospital bed.
The child's face was smooth and soft despite being in the water. He was in a hospital gown and his hair was now dried. His eyes shut. He looks so peaceful sleeping. How could someone want to hurt such a precious baby?
Jaemin stood up and walked out of the room to ask the receptionist if he could borrow the business phone for a few minutes to which she agreed.
Jaemin informed his internship why he hasn't shown up yet and the currant situation he was in. They were very rational and easy going about it and told him to ask them if he needed anything.
"Thank you," Jaemin bowed while handing the phone back and made his way back to the child's room and to his surprise, he was awake.
"Hi," Jaemin greeted softly as he stepped closer to the child who started breathing heavily, bringing the blanket to his face.
"No, no I'm not going to hurt you. I promise you that," Jaemin reassured the child who peeked his eyes out from the blanket, making Jaemin have no choice but to coo.
"I'm Na Jaemin! What's your name?" Jaemin asked with a friendly smile.
