Tw//abuse and hurtful language
"An eleven year old boy has been taken to the hospital and is reported to be fatally injured this afternoon. Authorities are suspecting the parents to be part of the cause to this as they are now being arrested and taken to court," the female reporter had informed, shifting her microphone to a couple of witnesses.
"As nextdoor neighbors, it's normal to hear noise from other homes. But this time, it was nothing like we've ever heard before," the older woman spoke into the camera as she shivered.
"Screaming and yelling. Rustling and banging. That's all we heard and then suddenly, it became silent. We didn't think anything of it, I mean I guess it's normal to scold your children...but we definitely weren't expecting this, so we called the cops," the older man spoke after his wife, intertwining their hands as the reporter listened carefully and appointed her microphone back to her mouth.
Police cars and ambulance trucks invaded the scene with their loud sirens. The road had been blocked off, as the forensics teams were looking for anything that can trace back to the parents of the child as proof.
"Thank you for your commentary. The eleven year old boy, who goes by the name of Na Jaemin."
The reporter closed her news broadcast.
Jaemin abruptly woke up, sitting up on Renjun's bed. Hopefully he didn't wake the older up.
That was it. That was the name of the tape, he pushed the covers off cautiously and crept into the living room.
He turned on the television and flipped on the channel that he uses to watch old cases.
He hoped it would work properly.
"Thank you for your commentary. The eleven year old boy, who goes by the name of-"
The television became static yet again as Jaemin's stressfully ran his hands through his hair.
He pressed rewind on the remote to see if it would work then, but no avail.
He just let the video play out, not being able to make out what the audio was saying.
He needed to know if it was him. Is he the boy that was sent to the hospital and was in coma for all those years?
His questions and suspicions were confirmed when he saw a picture of himself when he was younger on the screen.
"No.." Jaemin mumbled to himself.
His head was beginning to hurt, he shut his eyes tightly as the scene of his own memories plays.
"You did this to yourself. You're so pathetic," Jaemin's mother spat and she hit him in the head with a pan.
Jaemin cried out in pain as he fell down, clutching his head.
"Stop, it hurts!" Jaemin shouted both in his memory and reality.
Jaemin's step father forcefully lifted the eleven year old boy off of the ground, chuckling.
"Look at him, so useless."
The eleven year old tried to fight off his grip and ran up the stairs, trying to hide in his room.
But luck wasn't on his side as his father grabbed ahold of him again at the top of the staircase, his mother slowly and creepily making her way up to them.
"I should've aborted you when I had the chance," his mother said without any regret and shoved the boy down the stairs.
All Jaemin could hear were his parents laughing and the sound of his fragile bones cracking each time he landed the wrong way.
And before his new it, as soon as he reached the bottom, he was unconscious.
He remembers.
He remembers clearly what had happened.
How his parents used to beat him everyday for the fun of it, no reasoning at all.
How they took him and moved away from his best friend because his best friend's mother confronted them about their abusive actions.
How his parents never cared for him.
He was a mistake, they said it themselves.
What a great start to the morning of graduation day, isn't it?
