( put this here cuz the plot focuses on armin having this mental disorder)

To the people who have this disorder or sees their appearance or "flaws" as something to measure your worth as a person, reminder that you are fine just the way you are!

Btw in this au armin is 24 and annie is 25
Armin is still in college studying biology to become a marine biologist while annie is working as a police officer.

Armin stared at his reflection on the mirror. his girlfriend annie left their apartment for work today. So he is all alone now in their apartment he decided to take a shower and that's when his thoughts attacked him as he stares at his reflection he couldnt help but frown at his body. Armin never liked himself. He hated every inch of his body starting from his hair to his face and all the way down to his feet.

At highschool he was bullied for having long hair and was called a  girly boy that's why he cut his hair on their senior year since he's had enough. Armin was also judged for being physically weak and also his body for being smaller and thinner than most guys and for being frail.

He hated himself, he hated his appearance.

Armin doesnt understand what a girl like annie saw in a weakling like him. He secretly fears that annie will find someone better and leave him.

He stared again at his reflection, he felt hot tears fall from his face as he hugged his body and questioned why am i so skinny? Why am i small? why am i born weak? Why couldnt i be stronger? Why do i look like this? I wish i looked stronger, i wish i looked better.

He then punched the wall beside the mirror resulting in his knuckles to turn red. Armin then banged his head on the wall making his forehead have a small bump. I hate myself...He cried even more he wanted to get rid of this sickening self loathing he has for himself, armin wants to be better and see himself in a positive light but he just couldnt..

He would always notice it..the
way he looked, so he would always put effort into grooming himself and took good care of his hair and making sure he goes to the gym from time to time to improve his figure.

He sighed and looked at his himself tiredly on the mirror,
I dont want to be you anymore.. Armin said in between his sobs while pointed at himself on the mirror. He sighed, im being dramatic..he told himself and proceeded to take a shower.

Hours have passed since then,
Armin looked up at his book upon hearing a knock on their apartment door. He stood up and went to open the door.
Outside the door stood his girlfriend.

Annie went inside and greeted armin. she was about to give him peck on the cheek but she noticed the bandages wrapped on his right hand She also took note of the slight bump on armin's forehead.

She looked at it and noticed how he tried to hide it from her, armin.. What happened? She asked giving him a serious stare.

Sweat dropped from armin's face he knew that he'll be caught so he prepared already an explaination that would cover up the fact that he had a breakdown.

Uhh... Oh.. That uhmm you see me and eren went out and got into trouble with some thugs so we got in a fight.. Armin lied and looked away from her.

Annie stared at him intently, she suspects he isnt telling her the truth after all she is a cop so she knows how people act when they are lying. So annie decided to inquire about the subject further.
