[Chapter One: Copula Circumjacent]

Six days after the betrayal...

I woke up, not feeling anything. Neither my own body. I wanted to move my hands and feet, but I can't feel anything. I feel so numb.

I frowned when I noticed that I'm not on the hard ground below a building.

Everything was white, and I'm sure enough that I'm not inside the hospital. My eyes were too blurry to see the people that surrounded me. Their voices are muffled, and it sounds like plenty of bees flying around near my ears.

I close my eyes again, trying to concentrate and calm myself. If I am being abducted, then I need to focus on my surroundings and the people around me.

A few minutes later, the muffled voices were slowly clearing in my ears.

"It's been four weeks. Should we send her to the hospital now? "

"Are you even thinking? "

"Yes, I'm thinking, Shot. Do you think she'll survive in this laboratory? "

I heard a sigh. "If they see one of us being linked with them, do you think our job will stay for another day? "

"Her background doesn't even look appealing." The person scoffed. "Maybe letting her die can solve the problem."

"Life." Matigas na wika ng isa pang tao.

"Whatever. I'll be outside, killing you mentally." After that, a slam of a door was heard.

Seconds later, I heard the person standing beside the bed sigh. I carefully opened my eyes and searched for the owner of the voice. I saw him walking towards the chair while massaging his head.

My vision was a bit blurry, and I couldn't handle seeing an object directly. It feels like it's sucking all of my energy out.

"How are you even alive? "

Tiningnan ko ang biglang nagsalita. Nasa tabi siya ng kama sa kaliwa ko. He's staring straight at me with no emotions written on his face.

He has messy black hair and fair skin. His smokey grey eyes were darting a look in my direction and not making any actions. He remained silent while looking at my eyes. I didn't look away; nanatili rin akong nakatingin sakanya habang nakahiga ako.

"Cut it out, Corpse," the guy sitting on the chair said while his eyes were closed and the back of his head was resting on the wall.

But the guy named Corpse didn't even listen. His eyes were still staring at my soul.

This time, I blinked.

"Where am I? " I appealed out.

He didn't answer. Tumalikod lang siya at tahimik na lumabas ng kwarto. I was frowning at the closed door, asking myself what that guy's problem was.

"You're six days straight sleeping and lying on the bed like a corpse."

Tiningnan ko ang lalaking naka-upo. He's now looking at me.

Did he mean I'm six days in coma?

Pinilit kong umupo sa kama pero sa huli ay napapahiga nalang ako sa pagod at sakit, while the guy was still looking at me. Mukhang wala siyang balak na tulungan akong bumangon.

I eventually groaned when I felt a pang of pain in my back. I tried to reach it, but the IV fluid that's attached to my hand and lack of strength stopped me from making a single move. In the end, I just gave up and let myself fall down on the bed.
