[Chapter Sixteen: Loaded Hosts]

Waiting for days felt like ages. It was torture like I needed to distract myself just to keep myself busy inside the room where I was sent. Wala rin akong ibang makausap, which resulted in me only having the time to talk whenever I would go for food and water. Hindi ko na rin alam kung ano na ba ang nangyari kay Headmistress, if she's well and back to her position.

I was currently sitting on the chair, which is in front of the only window inside the room. My eyes were just looking outside, counting people who were passing by.

Tiningnan ko ang maliit na lamesa na malapit sa kinauupuan ko. I moved my body to the right, extending my arms afterwards as I reached for the glass of water on the table.

The time that I got my hands on the glass, I heard a noise outside the door. Lumingon ako sa pintuan nang makita ko itong bumukas at pumasok ang isa sa mga nagbabantay sa akin.

"Miss Dacheu, you're invited to the conference room," bungad nito nang tuluyan nang bumukas ang pinto.

Binitawan ko ang baso at tumayo. I faced the guard and sighed, hoping it's the day.

"Is it for the results?" tanong ko, pero katahimikan lamang ang sinagot nito sa akin.

I moved the chair when he didn't answer. After fixing myself, I looked at the guard again and spoke.

"Lead the way."

Nang makalabas ako sa kwarto, we made our way towards the main building of the headquarters. Mabilis kaming nakarating sa conference room kung saan pinapatawag ako.

When the guards beside me didn't open the door and just moved aside, tinaas ko ang kanang kamay ko at hinawakan ang doorknob. I knocked three times before speaking.

"This is Miss Dacheu. Requesting permission to enter the conference room."

Several seconds later, I heard an answer.

"Permission granted."

Pinihit ko ang doorknob at binuksan ang malaking pinto. I entered the room with a calm expression and avoided having a stiff posture.

As I faced the higher-ups of the Copula, agad kong nakita si Headmistress. Inside the conference, the director, deputy director, and counterintelligence representatives are present.

"Miss Dacheu," the headmistress greeted.

The last time I was called a Miss was when I was working with my government IDs. Inside this organization, ever since I was scouted, I haven't been called like this. Trainee, Rookie, Agent, Officer. 'Yon ang tinatawag nila sa akin, never 'Miss Dacheu.'

"Director," I greeted back.

"We're not going to make this long. We're here to let you know about the results from the Review Board meeting, along with the crossover interrogation results from Ma Deuce," the headmistress said as she took a clipboard where there's a ton of paper inside.

Binaba niya ulit pagtapos ang clipboard sa lamesa na nasa likuran niya. She folded her hands and looked me in the eyes, giving no expression.

"All of us in this room are delighted to formally welcome you back in the Copula Central Intelligence. You're cleared of all allegations and security concerns. Starting this day, your status is fully reinstated effective immediately."

I felt something inside me relax. I kept my composure and shook my hands with them.

"Thank you."

The conference ended quickly. Before leaving, I was told that I would be having a quick reintegration. Hindi agad ako mabibigyan ng mabigat na trabaho. For now, I would be focusing on catching up on every single thing that I missed in the organization. I would just be shadowing the other team in their operation and won't be doing much leadership for them.
