[Chapter Fourteen: Circles of Spear]

Before Life entered the dorm, maayos na ang mga gamit ko. I didn't waste any time to sit around and think of what I just dreamt. It's too draining to think. Hindi ko na rin ito masyadong matandaan makalipas ang ilang minuto pagkatapos kong magising.

I was stunned when I heard that my mission was over, but eventually, I accepted it. Wala ring mangyayari kung hindi ko ito maniniwalaan dahil lang sinabi ito ng isang estudyante.

When Life arrived at the dormitory, diretsyo siyang naglakad papunta sa kwarto niya. A few seconds later, I heard a few noises from her room. Nagkasalubong lang kami sa salas nang parehas naming ibaba ang mga gamit namin sa sofa.

"The car will be here in fifteen minutes," rinig kong sabi niya mula sa kusina habang naririnig ko ang pag-agos ng tubig mula sa lababo.

"Will it cause a ruckus? Students may hear the noise coming from the engine."

"The campus area is much further from the walls. The car will be parked at the northeast two hours before twilight," I heard her explain.

I sat on the sofa, crossed my legs and arms, and stared at the kitchen doorway with a deep frown. It makes sense since my arrival last week wasn't noticed by anybody.

"Did you use the door as well when you first arrived here? " I asked out of nowhere.

There were several seconds of silence before she answered. "We were blindfolded. The door was only told by us after that kid saw us with you."

"Kid? You mean Fontenelle? " nakataas ang isang kilay na tanong ko.

"Looks like it. His face reminds me of what Corpse used to look like three years ago, fucking gloomy."

I scoffed. "Why? Was he violent? "

May nakita akong papalaking anino na palabas ng kusina. I eventually saw Life munching while holding a not-so-large Tupperware, crumbs falling down on the floor along with it. Nang titigan ko kung anong laman no'n ay binalik ko nalang ang tingin sa kanya.

Why would she bring some cookies? Babaunin ba niya ang mga 'yon paalis?

"You could say that," she said as she rested the side of her body on the door frame. "He used to go to therapy. That was before he joined Ma Deuce."

Therapy, huh? How fucked up was he before?

"Don't even ask what he was like. Sakit siya sa ulo."

I looked at Life as she continued to munch, not caring about the mess that she's making.

I was about to open my mouth again to speak, but something buzzed from my bag. Nakita ko ang burner phone na umiilaw nang mabuksan ko ito. The headmistress' name was showing on the screen.

I stood up and took the call inside the room.

"This is Avarice," pakilala ko nang masagot ko ang tawag.

"How's the extraction going? "

"Still on hold. The vehicle's not in the location yet."

"I see. Are the three officers with you at the moment? Jean is asking for them."

I looked outside the window as I saw several students walking in different directions.

"Life's with me. The two officers are not with us at the moment. Perhaps they'll be here when the vehicle comes."

"Alright. Make sure no one will see the three of you leaving the place. Depart without any trace, got it? "

"Copy." Sinarado ko ang kurtina bago pinatay ang tawag. I exited the room, sumalubongsumalubong agad sa salas ang dalawang bagong mukha habang busy silang nag-uusap na tatlo.
