Frame #15: The Interrogation

[Chapter Fifteen: The Interrogation]

The holding room is a small-spaced room where the only things that I could see were a table, a chair, a huge mirror on the wall, and four CCTVs at each corner of the room.

I was assisted to go inside before the security ordered me to stay and wait for the start of the interrogation. Inalis nila ang dapat alisin sa katawan ko. They even took my bags before leaving the room quietly, leaving me in a dead silent room.

When the door shut, nakatitig lang ako sa pinto kung saan wala itong doorknob sa loob. The only access for it is for the people outside. Giving me no chance to escape if I ever thought of doing it.

Sumandal ako sa upuan at dinikwatro ang binti ko at walang imik na tumitig sa sahig.

I just paid attention to my breathing, distracting myself as I waited for the securities to enter again to fetch me.

I looked at the mirror from my right. Alam kong may mga tao sa likuran ng salamin na ito, and I know that they're currently monitoring me inside this room. Every move, every look, and every breath—they're here to watch me.

This is it. This is the day that I've been waiting for before I even entered Morwittz. Mapasa ko lang ang lahat na ito, I will surely go back to my job.

Seconds passed until it became minutes up to an hour. Doon lamang muling bumukas ang pinto, where two armed security guards walked inside.

"It's time for your interrogation."

Tumayo ako at naunang naglakad palabas. They held both of my arms as they guided me towards the debrief room. Nakailang liko kami bago huminto sa isang pinto. One of them opened the door and walked me inside.

The room is dim. The only bright light is hanging above one table where there's someone sitting in the chair, hands clasped as his eyes settle on mine. I sat across from the officer and firmly put both of my hands on top of the table and exhaled slowly.

"Officer Dacheu."

"A pleasant afternoon," I greeted flatly.

"I'm sure nothing's pleasant after your sudden disappearance, officer," aniya habang binubuklat ang mga papel na nasa lamesa. He tapped the pen three times on the table before looking at me again. "Let's start, shall we? "

Marahan lamang akong tumango bilang tugon. I didn't fix my posture when the officer in front of me did. He let out a heavy breath before speaking again.

"It has been twelve days since you disappeared from our surveillance. Where have you been? "

"I was in a coma for six days after I fell out of a building. Following that, I was away for six days after I was ordered by someone to work for a bit," walang pag-aalinlangang sagot ko.

"Work? Work on what? " the officer asked with a slight frown visible on his forehead.

"A piece of standby person, looking after someone."

"And who ordered you to work? "

"Headmistress."

Ilang segundong hindi umimik ang officer habang may sinusulat sa papel niya.

After scribbling, he looked at me again. "Since when did you come in contact with her? "

"After I woke up from my coma."

"Were there any more specific people who you were with around those times? "

"The three agents from Ma Deuce. I was with them after my coma until earlier."
