The evening had arrived and the boys finished off getting ready for the party. Peter was taking care of the last arrangements, while his friends were changing.

Sirius wore a short sleeved button up shirt, with the top few buttons open. Remus was wearing the same thing, but a different colour. James wore a black button up shirt with long sleeves, he tried his hardest to look the best he could, since Lily was attending the party. He strongly believed that tonight was his night to impress her.

'Guys, could you help me with the last preparations?' Peter asked, to which they all got up and helped him. They helped him blow up a few balloons and hung up some garlands. Next to them was a set table filled with bottles of firewhisky, butter beer and other drinks.

Before everyone else arrived in their common room, Sirius walked back to their dorm, which left Remus confused. He looked at him entangled, directing his blue eyes at his'.

'I like to make an entrance.' Sirius told him, smirking at the boy.

That was such a Sirius thing to do, Remus thought. He grinned at the thought alone.

When the room was crowded with people from all different houses, no one even cared about the houses and the house cup anymore. Everyone was just enjoying themselves, while blasting music, dancing and drinking. The cramped room was filled with what seemed like hundreds of persons. Remus almost found it hard to breathe, already, and half of the invited people hadn't even arrived yet.

He was waiting for Sirius to come back, he felt a little alone, since James was following Lily and Peter was chatting with some other friends of his.

Just when he thought of him, the black haired boy walked down the stairs from their dorm room and entered the party. A few people turned around to look at him, so did Remus. The enormous smile on Sirius' face made Remus laugh. He looked so proud of himself.

'You're crazy.' Remus laughed at Sirius.

'I might be crazy, but now that people know that I'm here the party can really start.'

He directed Remus to the table with all the drinks and grabbed himself a firewhisky. Remus just copied what he did. Sirius took a long gulp and breathed out. Remus wasn't a big drinker, so he decided to take it a little slower, he eventually just took a sip.

'Having fun, Moony?' Sirius almost shouted, since the music was very loud. Remus nodded, looking around the crowd. All those girls, and Sirius wasn't going after them.

Sirius was just dancing to the music in the background, his black locks waving all different directions. The darkness of the room did a lot of good to his face. Remus just admired him, his confidence, how he didn't care for even a bit how other people thought of him, he just wanted to have fun.

'Remus, come on, let yourself go!' Sirius placed his hands on Remus' shoulders to shake him loose. The sudden touch of Sirius' hands against his skin made him shiver. It shook him he still stayed with him. But he decided to listen to him and let himself go. He took one big gulp of his drink to boost his confidence. The effect the alcohol had on him was amazing. He moved himself to the rhythm perfectly. He finally felt he could relax and took another few gulps of his drink.

It's been a while since he had so much fun. He and Sirius were just chatting along the way of finishing his bottle, and his second, and his third.

In the meantime, Sirius wandered off to talk to other people at the party, not noticing Remus' situation. He was starting to feel dizzy, but nevertheless kept on drinking. The alcohol was filling his entire body. He could barely stand up. The firewhisky seared Remus' throat as it seemed to burn life into him. After these past couple of days, it actually felt good to not feel so overwhelmed every minute of every day.

But somewhere through his enjoyment, something went wrong, terribly. His vision turned blurry as his movements got sloppier. He stumbled to the first wall he could reach and leaned his body against it, hoping to find some support in it.

In the distance Sirius was talking to some girls, drinking himself, but since he was a more experienced drinker, he didn't feel as shitty like Remus at all.

When he noticed Remus' and acknowledged his situation, he immediately blew the girls off and ran to his friend. A panicked look on his face.

'Moony, are you alright? Moony!' Sirius grabbed the sides of Remus' face, trying to awaken him from the trance he landed in. But Remus could barely speak, too drunk to do anything but breathe.

The music was bursting into their ears, making it hard for them to understand each other. It was dark too and the crowded room made the whole situation even worse than it already was. It was stuffy, which made it hard to breathe. Even for Sirius, who was on the edge of freaking out and perhaps even get a panic attack.

He put one of Remus' arms around his neck for him to lean on and walked him to their dorm. He placed him on the nearest bed he could find, and told him to stay there while he got some coffee.

Remus could barely comprehend what was happening since his mind kept dazing off in his drunk state. His drowning eyes made it hard for him to see, so he decided to just close them.

When Sirius got back with the coffee, he found himself a passed out Remus. He sat next to him on the bed and laid a hand on his shoulder. A sigh slipped from his mouth.

'Oh, Rem.'

After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, Remus finally woke up and got back to senses.

'What's going on? What happened?' He asked, rubbing his eyes. He wanted to sit up straight in his bed, but Sirius pushed him down again.

'You passed out, I assume you drank too much.' Sirius had been waiting all this time for him.

'Oh, shit. Did you stay here with me all this time?' By the silence from Sirius' side, he knew he had been staying with him. 'I'm sorry you had to miss the party.' Remus looked down, humiliated of the situation he got himself into.

'No, Rem, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left you alone.'

'Thank you for helping me.' Remus took a sip of the coffee Sirius had brought him and slowly leaned his head against the headboard.

'Of course,' Sirius responded, smiling at him, 'The party wasn't that much fun any way.'

Remus faked a smile. He was too embarrassed to even look at him. Of all the people that could've found him, it had to be him. He wanted to cut himself off, he actually considered faking falling asleep so he didn't have to be confronted.

'Remus.'

'Yeah?'

'There's nothing to be ashamed of, you know that right?' Remus didn't respond to that, he was tired, nauseous and even irritated at himself. He felt like he could throw everything around him against the wall, through the window, off the staircase. But he was too sick to even move. I'm pathetic.

'You don't want to know how many times I've passed out at a party.' Remus finally found the nerves to look Sirius in the eyes again.

'Come, let's get you to bed.' Sirius helped him get ready, and even took off his shoes for him. Sirius grabbed the lower half of Remus' shirt and pulled it over his head, slowly. Remus almost thought Sirius was staring, but was too tired to concentrate on his facial expressions.

After he helped him take off his alcohol-soaked shirt, Sirius put the blankets aside. Doubting if he should take off Remus' pants too, he eventually decided to leave them on. He tucked him into bed, only hoping he would feel a little better after a good night of sleep.

'You know,' Remus began, his words sloppier than earlier, he was obviously about to fall asleep. 'Before all this, I had fun.'

'Me too.' With that thought, Sirius left the room and Remus fell asleep. Sirius'd been right before, he would definitely not forget this.
