The Three Broomsticks, 5:30 PM
When Remus walked into the shop, his friends were already seated at one of the tables. He noticed James' dark hair at the back of the pub and walked over to them.
At the other end of the table sat Peter, Marlene and Sirius. Marlene was sitting so close to Sirius, their shoulders were almost squeezed against each other. There was plenty of space for her to sit normal, but of course she had to sit that close to Sirius.
'Hey, Rem! Where have you been?' Sirius asked.
'I told you earlier I was going for a walk.' Remus responded, plain faced, showing no sense of what he was feeling. Though, on the inside, his feelings were one crashing mess.
'Alright.' Sirius looked sort off guilty, 'Come, sit down.' He pointed at the seat in front of him. Remus sat down at the chair, avoiding eye contact with Sirius.
'We've already ordered, sorry. Can we get you anything?' Lily asked.
'Thank you, Lily, but I'm fine.' Remus faked a smile in her direction, he wasn't ready to start drinking again. That one night was still stuck in his mind, how miserable he felt after drinking. He wouldn't trust himself with that again.
'Alright, I'll just get something to eat then.'
'Wait! I'll come with you!' James yelled as he quickly left his chair.
Sirius started to snigger, 'He's so desperate to be with her.'
'I know right, why won't they just get together already.' Remus joined in, trying to break the tension. The both of them just quietly laughed. He didn't want to be mad at Sirius, not at all. He didn't even really have something to be mad about. He was just hurt and it happened to be Sirius who kind of caused that.
When Marlene crossed her legs on top of Sirius, was the moment Remus lost it, he couldn't hold in his frustration anymore.
'Jesus Christ, why don't you just sit on him right away!' Shit.
'Did you say something?' Sirius looked up from his plate, he looked just as annoyed with Marlene as he did.
'No, nothing, never mind.' He sighed in relief. Good thing no one heard him, how could he have said something like that. Why was he even this irritated with her?
'Look! James and Lily are back! Hey, guys!' Peter was overly loud, trying to conceal the silence that had fell around the table. He had definitely heard him.
The two of them were followed by Mary and Dorcas, who apparently just like Remus came in later.
'Wormtail, what the- Nevermind why even bother. We've brought food!' Said James. He and Lily sat down at the table and let everyone get their food.

On their way back to the castle, Peter walked up to Remus, who was walking alone, lost in his thoughts. He got pulled out of his trance by Peter's hand on his shoulder.
'So?' He asked.
'So what?' Remus responded.
'Earlier, what you snapped at Marlene, what was that all about?'
Remus really didn't want to talk about it now, since he didn't even know what it was all about himself. He needed time to think about it, about everything. His mind was filled with blank thoughts. They were there, he just couldn't quite figure out what they meant yet.
'I don't know what you're talking about, Peter.'
'You do. Does Moony have a little crush on McKinnon?' He playfully asked, while tapping him on the shoulder.
'I do not.' Remus laughed back, of course he didn't have a crush on Marlene, she was more like a sister to him, also, he didn't even like her that much, not in that way at least.
'Well, with the way you've been acting lately, was it bold of me to assume? I think you do have a crush on someone, I just have to figure out who.'
Remus didn't even focus on everything he said after, he was distracted by the sight of the tall black haired boy. He caught eye contact with Sirius, who kindly smiled at him. Remus smiled back, a genuine smile on the contrary of some smiles he'd faked before.
'Remus?'
'Huh, yeah?'
'Are you listening to me?'
'Er- Yes, sorry, what?'
'I was asking you where you were looking at?'
Sirius
'Nothing.'
'Alright, but is there anyone you fancy at the moment?'
Remus' heart skipped a beat at that question. To his surprise there was a certain name that popped into his mind, but that couldn't be, right? It was probably just because they were the last one he looked at.
Peter was still waiting for his response. Something in Remus told him to keep his mouth shut, but something else told him to scream it off the top of the roofs.
He looked down to the ground, but when he looked up he locked eyes with this gorgeous boy, Sirius. He waved at him, which made Remus smile instantly. He knew.
'No, no one at the moment.'
