Chapter 18

As soon as I walked into the school the next day, there were whispers and not so subtlety. People questioning where my loyalties actually lie and whether or not I was actually the UA traitor.

"So is it true? You fucked a villain?"

"How low does one have to sink to sleep with a villain?" A couple of the third year girls ask as they stepped in front of me to block my way. I sigh and click my tongue against my teeth when they move to stay in my path.

"You know, a hero will sacrifice you for the sake of the world. A villain however. They will tear the world apart for you. So which would you rather have?" I snapped at them, causing them to take a small step back. The one who spoke first opens her mouth to say something else but quickly shuts it again.

"There a problem over here?" I didn't even have to turn around to know who it was that had walked up behind me.

"Yes actually...." The girls eyes hazed over as soon as she spoke.

"I highly suggest that you turn around and walk away. Leave my sister alone. Mess with her again and I won't stop her from kicking your ass." The one girl under his control turned and began walking away, her friend scurrying after her like a dog with its tail between its legs. I turn to Shinso and give a weak smile.

"Thanks Shinso."

"No problem Melody. Like I said, I'm not going to let anyone talk shit about you cause I know you're not what they say you are." 

"I really do appreciate it Shinso. It's going to be a long day... So which class did you end up in anyway? You said you got into the hero course, but didn't get the chance to tell me which one." I say as we walk towards class. He just chuckled slightly before grinning.

"Same class as you."

"Really?! Oh that's awesome! The two brainwashers in the same class." I laughed and he simply shook his head. As soon as I walked into the class, I was tackled into a hug. "Oomph.... Ow. Hello to you too Mina."

"It's so good to see you! We were worried that you weren't going to come back."

"I just needed a few extra days is all." I laughed, patting her back a bit before she backed up. "I'm alright. I promise."

"Says the one who just had a couple of third years giving you a hard time?"

"Shinso, shut the fuck up man!"

"Who was giving you a hard time?" Kirishima asked with a frown and I simply shook my head. I looked around the classroom and my brow furrowed a bit.

"Where's... Where's Midoriya?" Everyone fidgets slightly in response to my question, no one answering just quite yet. "Guys! Where is Midoriya?"

"He left. Left us all a note and disappeared just like you did... Except you didn't even bother to leave a note explaining anything." I chuckled a bit and rubbed the back of my head.

"I couldn't... Otherwise I would have."

"That damn nerd went to go after the villains by himself."  Bakugo explained a little more. "Explained how he got his quirk in those notes as well. Said he was the reason the villains kept attacking the school. So he was leaving to keep us all safe." My eyes widened a bit at what he said. I had to give Toya a heads up later.

"Alright, everyone settle down. I know we're all happy to see Melody again and what not but take your seats." Papa says as he entered the room, giving my shoulder a small pat before pushing me towards my seat. The rest of the day was surprisingly uneventful, granted most of the class refused to let me walk anywhere by myself just in case someone wanted to start some trouble. No one was brave enough to even try to with the glares that Bakugo and Shinso were giving out.
