It iss finally the first day of school. Dad said that I am going to be in class 1-A with Papa Aizawa. I had no idea who else was going to be in my class, they both refused to tell me. I saw quiet a few of the kids from the entrance exam walking up to the school, including that green haired kid that managed to not get any points at all. I couldn't hear anything anyone around me was saying due to the headphones I was wearing, I almost always had them. When I was uncomfortable, I could just put on my music and ignore the world.
The looks that the other students gave me however made me think that they knew who I am and were whispering about me. That was nothing new. It wasn't hard to find where my class, I knew this school like the back of my hand after all. Papa Aizawa and dad would bring me here on bring your child to work day almost every year. As soon as I stepped into the class however, my steps faltered at who was in there. That two toned hair that I could never forget, Shoto Todoroki.
How badly I wished I could go up to him and tell him I was sorry to hear about Toya. How I wished I could just hug him, but he had no idea who I was. That was confirmed even more when he looked at me in confusion as to why I was staring at him. Giving my head a small shake, I headed over to my seat and looked around at my other classmates. The engine kid, the levitate kid, the Laser kid, the explosion kid and the green haired one were all there... And being extremely noisy. I watched them all for a moment before sliding my headphones over my ears and turning on my music, thus canceling out any other noise. This music was special to me though, as it was my own. I had played or sang every single piece of this Playlist. Mother had always talked about how she wished she could teach me how to play specific instruments so when I moved in with dad, I begged him to let me learn.
I didn't even notice I was tapping along on my desk until someone else tapped my shoulder. Blinking, I pull off my headphones and look up at who had tapped me. Well I would have at least if someone had been there. Whoever it was had an invisibility quirk so all that was seen of her was her uniform.
"Sorry."
"Don't be sorry, that sounded awesome." The invisible girl stated excitedly. I was about to respond when I heard Papa Aizawa's voice.
"If you've come here to make friends then just pack up your things and go home.... Welcome to UA's hero course... It took eight seconds for you all to shut up. That's not going to work. Time is precious. Rational students would understand that." I chuckle slightly as Papa Aizawa entered the room and continued introducing himself. "I am Shota Aizawa, your teacher." The sheer shock on everyone's faces when he said that made me giggle softly. "Right... Let's get too it..." He pulls another uniform from his sleeping bag before speaking again. "Put these on and head outside." Everyone once again looks confused and I can't help but to sigh. These guys had no idea what they were getting into with Papa Aizawa as their teacher. I've lived with him for the last six years, so I at least semi know what to expect. Scooting out of my seat, I silently make my way over to Aizawa and take one of the uniforms from him.
"Melody..."
"Morning papa." Was all I said before slipping the uniform over my current one and heading outside. When all of the students arrived, Aizawa informed us that we would be doing a quirk assessment test.
"But orientation, were going to miss it!" The girl, Ochaco Uraraka, who was able to levitate things stated. I sigh and cross my arms over my chest, waiting for everyone to stop complaining so we can all get this show on the road.
"If you really wanna make the big leagues, you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies. Here at UA, we're not tethered to traditions. That means that I get to run my class however I see fit. You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives. But you never got to use your quirks in physical exams before. The countries still trying to pretend we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel. It's not rational. One day, the ministry of education will learn... Bakugo, you managed to get the most points on the entrance exam. What was your farthest distance throw with a soft ball when you were in junior high?"
