A Sinful Forbidden Affair

Chapter 1

Era was tapping her pen while listening to the proposals made by her people for the upcoming launch of Rolls Royce Cullinan Black Badge in the Philippine market.

Kulang na lamang ay mapahilot siya sa sintido sa mga pambatang ideya ng kanyang Marketing Team. Mukhang nasasayang ang pasahod ng employer nila sa mga ito.

She wanted them to step up, pero mukhang sa kaniya na naman manggagaling ang ideya.

"Team, I am frustrated with the ideas you are presenting right now," she said in a calm and collected voice. They knew how ruthless she could be, the reaction on their faces now said it all.

"This is basic advertising, guys. First, we are launching a luxury car. What venue can be more fitting? We are done with hotels, scratch it out from your list."

She saw them nodding. 

"Next. It is a British car, what venue can you think of that speaks British?" 

Tinamaan ng lintik, ten minutes had elapsed, wala pa ring nakaisip ng ideya. Napabuga siya ng hangin. Wala ba siyang ka-wavelength sa mga ito? She was staring directly at the team head, mukhang pati ito, e nablangko na rin. Damn.

"Any known sport that is exclusively British?" Era asked with an arched eyebrow. Gusto niyang manermon dahil nakita niyang kaniya-kaniyang tipa sa mga smartphone nila ang mga kapwa empleyado. Wala siya sa mood manermon today. Ayaw niyang masira ang umaga niya. She didn't have the energy, nag-away lang sila ni Vernon last night.

She fought the urge to roll her eyes when there are still no exchanging of ideas. But, she chose to guide them again, that is what a leader for, right?

"Soccer."

"Squash."

"Cricket."

"Badminton."

Sunod-sunod na sagot ng Marketing Team. She was waiting for one of the team members to say the word she wanted to hear.

"Polo," ani Michelle.

She cut the next team member who was supposed to answer.

"Polo is the king's sport. RR is the top luxury car used by the royal family."

She preferred guiding them today on how to think outside the box using the information presented.

"Now, any venue here in Manila where polo is being held?"

"Manila Polo Club," Jolo said.

"Thank you, Jolo. Now, coordinate with Manila Polo Club on their availability for our launch."

Era sipped her iced black coffee, she needed to think of an out of the box idea. They would be launching the Black Badge. May mga idea na pumapasok sa isip niya and she needed a quiet place to think.

"Let's adjourn the meeting. Go ahead and brainstorm. Present it to me tomorrow."

She stepped out of the conference room and went directly to her office. As she sat on her swivel chair, she started drafting the scenarios for launching on her sketch pad. She needed to finish it since she would be attending to a lot of things as the general manager of a known ad agency.

Her secretary knocked lightly. "Ms. Era, you have a visitor. Shall I let him in?"

Era frowned. Who would visit her unannounced? Sinipat niya ang relo. Wala namang iba kung hindi . . . .

"Hi."

Maaliwalas na mukha ng kaniyang nobyo ang bumungad sa kaniya with a bunch of flowers on his left hand and a paper bag on the right. From the logo of the paper bag, she knew it would be their lunch.
