"That dick!" Ella's words rung in my ears.
"Agreed, what a knob head." Em's finally shared her opinion of what we'd all just discovered..
As I looked down to examine the image further tears filled my eyes and blurred my vision.
The girls noticed this and all sprung into action, Emma locking her phone, Ella putting the kettle on and Dorothy grabbing her secret supply of crisps, they all did their best bless them to keep my mind off of it, but at around 1am my phone started ringing. Emma went to grab it from where she'd hidden it and rolled her eyes "It's your dickhead lover boy"
"He's not my lover boy" I snapped back. "Ems can you answer it?" I produced my best puppy dog eyes and eventually she caved.
"What the fuck do you want?"
"I want to speak to Scarlett" came the husky reply from the other line.
"Too bad she's busy"
"Emma, I know she isn't just give her the phone"
Ems sighed and chucked it at me, I reluctantly picked it up.
"What do you want Jack?"
"Look this is only going to be brief, but there's this other girl and I really want to give it a shot with her, so we cool?"
I dropped the phone, not bothering to hang up.
"He didn't even apologise." I whispered dropping to the ground.
In one swift movement the girls picked up the phone dumped themselves on the sofa and yelled all manner of abuse at Jack.
I gasped and had to ball up my fists to stop myself from laughing.
Eventually after attempting to argue back, Jack apologised and hung up. The girls seemed pretty satisfied with themselves, so after they'd all finally dropped of to sleep, at 3am, I climbed off the sofa bed Ella and me were sharing and crept over to where Emma had hidden my phone to prevent me from torturing myself with that image.
I unlocked my phone and clicked on the Instagram app, it didn't take me 5 seconds to find the photo, there they were, together. You wouldn't of thought they were together or anything..until you looked at the caption.
"This girl is my world, no one compares to her, I met her last year and since then all I can think about is her, and now she's finally decided to give me a chance, I think she's the one, I love you Ellie"
Eurgh, what the fuck. The part about him thinking she's the one was funny though I mean, it's Jack, for him, every girl he dates is the one!
I smile at the recognition that at one point he thought I was the one, multiple times in fact. The most recent was 6 days ago, when I went round to his house and as we were lying on his bed laughing, he asked me if I wanted to try and make things work! 6 FUCKING DAYS PEOPLE AND ALREADY THERE'S A NEW GIRL!!!
Anger filled my veins like venom and I remembered why this one photo had angered me so much.
"He didn't even tell me it was over,"
Tears stained my cheeks, as I lost my battle with trying to keep them in, I let out angry noiseless sobs until I eventually fell asleep.
