that night

(Skip to half through the year)

Harry and I walk to Platform 9¾ after the summer holidays. I haven't talked to Draco or Patty all holidays and I'm scared they're still going to make me choose. As I'm sitting with Hermione, Ron, and Harry on the train, Draco walks past and our eyes lock. I quickly look away before anything else happened.

"Evie? Are you okay?" Hermione whispers in my ear after she notices what happened. I look at her and shrug, not really knowing how I feel about Patty and Draco anymore. We laugh and catch each other up on the train ride.

"So... Evie, how's the whole Patty and Draco thing going?" Ron asks me and everyone turns to me. I look over at Hermione and I can see she's mad he asked about it.

"Umm... it's okay, I guess. I don't want to pick between them but they're basically forcing me to" I say looking out the window and seeing Hogwarts in the mist. We all start grabbing our things as we approach the Hogwarts platform. After the first years were sorted into their houses, we had dinner. The whole time, Draco and I kept making eye contact. After dinner, I race to my dorm so I could unpack. Hermione starts unpacking too but stops and looks over at me.

"Are you okay?" Hermione says seriously.

"Yeah, just a little stressed out about Draco," I say putting a fake smile on. "We kept making eye contact during dinner and he looked so sad. He wasn't even talking with his friends and I saw Patty making fun of him from the other side of the Slytherin table" I continue unpacking and get ready for bed. Hermione and I talk until she falls asleep. I can't sleep so I decide to go for a walk. I use my wand as a torch as I roam through the empty hallways. I faintly hear footsteps coming from behind.

"Hello?" I say turning and facing the way the footsteps are coming from. I hear them coming closer and closer until they step into the light.

"Draco?" I say after seeing platinum blonde hair. "What are you doing out and this time of night?" I ask stepping closer to him.

"I couldn't sleep, why are you out here?" Draco asks cracking a smile. I missed seeing him smile.

"Couldn't sleep either" I say grabbing his hand and leading him to the courtyard bench. We sit down together and talk the night away. It soon starts raining and I immediately get flashbacks from that night in my second week here. I look at him and I could tell he was looking back on that night too. That was the night I told him I loved him. I still do. I always will but I don't know how he feels. I daze off looking into his grey eyes.

"Evie?" Draco says waving his hand in front of my eyes and smirking. I swot his hand away and burst out laughing. "I've missed that laugh you know," Draco says swiping my soaking wet hair behind my ear. We gazed into each other's eyes until I heard a voice coming from the other side of the courtyard.

"Draco?! There you are! I got so scared baby" the mysterious woman's voice says running over to us.

'BABY?!' I think to myself and the woman steps into the moonlight. I can't believe Draco's dating....
