Prologue

Promise

"This is too much!" I screamed in frustration while tears of anger and fear poured down my face.

"You have to calm down. He's fine Promise. Stop worrying you know he can handle himself. He's not going to let anything happen while he has her." Miracle tried to reassure me. Her shaky voice told me she wasn't too sure about the words that just came out of her own mouth. That wasn't even what had me nervous. The worst feeling came over me in that moment. I don't know what it was but it wasn't right.

"Something is wrong."

"It is not. Just chill out. Did he or did he not say he was going to make sure he came back with her?"

"Yes he said that but you think they'll care that he has her with him? That bitch took her from me in the first place. That's my life Mir I can't live without them!" Falling to my knees

"It's going to be fine I promise you it will be alright." She said while she tried to comfort me. "I know what you're going through. He's not by himself they're together. I'm scared too but you can't let that fuck with your head right now."

"Why would she do this shit to me?" I know she had no answer to that question. The only person that could truly know that answer is somebody I didn't even want to face right now. The way I'm feeling I will kill that bitch and not think twice about it.

She is just determined to fuck my life completely up. It's always the ones you think wouldn't do it. How could somebody so fucking close to me set up a plan to destroy everything I care about? What did I even do to her to make her hate me enough to take shit this far?

Confusion, and worry were the only things running through my head. I didn't know what was going on with them, He wasn't picking his phone up. I wasn't getting any calls about him. I didn't know what to do.

"I don't know. Karma is a bitch and God don't like ugly she's going to get what's coming to her. It's only matter of time before she does. Trust me on this. They will be alright." She said while hugging me.

I silently prayed to God she was right. I really wouldn't be able to go on if something went wrong.

The sound of my doorbell buzzing cut my prayer a little short. I didn't mean to but I pushed Miracle off of me and ran to the door hoping I was going to see his face on the other side but I was met with a badge instead.

"We're looking for someone named Promise?" The officer asked.

"Yes that's me. What's going on?" I asked anxiously. The look on their faces told me everything I didn't want to hear. I didn't even hear him finish his statement before I collapsed to my knees right in front of them.

"Promise what's wrong?!" Miracle asked running up to the door.

"My bab-babies!" Was all I got out before everything around me got blurry. It was only a matter of seconds before complete darkness took over.
