Promise

"Promise, you have another client waiting for you baby girl." Telly told me while I was attempting to get Patience together. This is one of the reasons why you don't bring a baby to a grand opening of anything.

"Alright, I'll be out in a minute.Major still out there?"

"Yes he's talking to your dad. Why?"

"Tell him to come get his daughter please?"

"I got you," Telly walked out of myoffice while I continued to calm Patience down. She is her aunt's niece forreal, her attitude is just like Cherish. Fussy as hell and uncontrollable attimes. Usually I'm able to deal with her but right now this was not the timefor her to be driving me crazy, I had a bunch of people in my salon celebratingthe grand opening and because this is a full service salon I was working my ass off doing client after client.

"You're so luck you're only six months, try this type of shit in another couple of months and I'm popping you." I shook my head just as Major was coming in.

"What's wrong with her?"

"I don't know and I don't have time to figure it out. Just take her, I have a client waiting for me." I handed her to him and she immediately stopped crying. "You know what I can't, I need to go do this."

"I told you not to bring her baby, listen I'm about to go drop her off with my parents. I'll be right back alright."

"If that's what you want to do go ahead, I'll be working." I rolled my eyes and walked out of the office and back onto the salon floor. "Telly, that shirt needs to be put back on boo." I told him and of course he rolled his eyes but complied with my demand.

"This dress code is killing me softly man, all black for why?" He complained.

"It looks better this way, besides the way some of y'all dress on the regular basis is not really...up to par. No offense to any of you, you know I love y'all." I answered.

"You're not wearing all black though."

"Boss lady doesn't have to now get back to work. Where's my client?"

"Right here," I heard from behind me. Turning around I smiled when I saw Kendrick standing there.

"What are you doing here?" I hugged him.

"Came to celebrate with you, doing it big out here ma. Congratulations."

"Thank you,"

"So where is your little family, I still aint met this nigga you married yet."

"You didn't come to my baby shower or to my thanksgiving dinner even though you were invited to both so blame yourself. He took our daughter to his parents house."

"Oh alright,"

"So you're my client? You're actually letting me put my hands in your hair?"

"Yeah I figured I'll let you braid my shit it is your big day." He smiled at me.

"Gee, thanks Kendrick. Nah for real though come on, I'll even wash your hair myself."

"In that?" He asked while he surveyed my outfit.

"Yeah, I know what I'm doing. Just come on."Grabbing his arm I led him over to the shampoo stations and got him prepared for his hair to be washed.

"So what made you come see me? I know it's more than the opening, you forever in hiding."

"I'm not hiding I'm just not a people person you know that. I figured I would show my face today in support of you. Plus, I had to see Cherish acting like a normal person for myself."
