The drive to my parent's house was a little weird. I could look at Promise and tell she was nervous. I don't know why, my mother isn't even the type of person to dislike somebody. The only time she even has a problem is if somebody is pure evil.

"Promise, everything is going to be fine. Stop being nervous."

"These are your parents here."

"So what? They're humans just like you. Relax; they're going to love you. Don't worry about it."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes I'm sure."

"Alright I believe you." Laughing I pulled up right behind Macai and got out opening Promise's door after.

"Y'all niggas ready to eat?" Macai asked us.

"Hell yeah," We walked up to the door and Cai rang the doorbell. It was a couple of seconds before our mother opened the door.

"You're not late this time. That's good." She smiled. "Come in." We both moved aside to let in Promise and Miracle in then closed the door once we were inside. "Who are these beautiful girls?"

"I'm Miracle; it's nice to meet you Mrs. Brown." They hugged.

"It's nice to meet you too." She looked at Promise. "What's your name honey?"

"I'm Promise," I guessed my mother sensed her nervousness because she pulled her in for a hug.

"You don't have to be nervous. Trust me I am happy these two have brought you over. They have never let me meet any of their girlfriends."

"Oh wait I'm not his girlfriend." Promise corrected her.

"You're not? So what is the relationship between you two?"

"She's my friend ma, that's it." I chuckled.

"Uh huh sure, your father is downstairs you two can go down there. Don't worry about your friends I'm not going to do anything."

"Alright, I'll be downstairs if you want me." I told Promise and she nodded.

After getting shooed out by our mother again we went downstairs. "Aye pops, why you down here and not upstairs?" Cai asked him.

"Upstairs for what?"

"We brought some people for you to meet."

"Who?"

"His girlfriend and my friend." I sat down while he looked at me confused.

"Wait, you brought a girl here for us to meet?" He asked me.

"Yeah, so what?"

"Nigga you've never brought a girl around your mother. Cai hasn't either but I already knew he had a girlfriend."

"What's your point?"

"My point is you like this girl."

"She's cool," I shrugged.

"No it's more than that. You're catching feelings over there?"

"Now why are you pushing it?"

"I'm not, I'm asking. Cai tell the truth. Is he catching feelings for her?"

"I don't know if it's deep but he definitely does." Cai told him.

"Nigga," I through a couch cushion at him.

"What? Tell me you're not feelin' that girl?" I didn't even say anything. There wasn't anything to say to be honest. He was right but I'm not about to let him know that.
