The Mandalorian Jedi

Chapter Nineteen

Not long after the battle on Mon Cala Norah and I found ourselves in a meeting with the Jedi Council alongside Anakin. Midway through a mission in the outer rim several Clones had been captured, Rex, Fives, Wolffe, Jesse and Hardcase among them along with several other troopers.
"From what we understand this was not the work of the Separatists but a large group of bounty hunters working from a base on the planet of Lothal. Unfortunately Lothal is a neutral planet and we do not have a good enough reason to mount a rescue mission."
"Not enough- Master there are clones there, I think that is a good enough reason."
"I'm afraid the Senate will not see it that way, Clones are dispensable, they can be replaced with ease and while I know this is hard I am ordering you to stay here, no one is to mount any form of rescue mission for these clones. Is that clear?"
"But-" Master Windu cut me off,
"If you do so there will be severe repercussions, Anakin your Padawan will be given to another Jedi to train and any other Jedi who attempts it will have their chances of ever becoming a Jedi Master squashed." The last part was directed at me although Norah was very obviously included in the equation.

I shook my head and walked out, Norah following closely,
"We can't just let them die!"
"Rhea please think about this, Anakin can't give up Ahsoka and you have always wanted to become a Jedi Master, you always used to say you would follow in your Master's footsteps, if you do this those dreams will turn to dust."
"I don't care, they are my friends and I won't let them die. I am going to rescue them, whether I go alone or not is up to you." She sighed and shook her head,
"If we die it's on you." I grinned and nodded,
"I'll make the eulogy dramatic."
"Who said you were the one doing it?" I pouted and pretended to wipe a tear away as we set off at a run towards the hangar, we stopped by our rooms to grab armor and in less than ten minutes we were being chased through the skies of Coruscant by a group of clones, we managed to evade them long enough to reach the docking rings and make the jump to hyperspace, we only just managed to not get blown to pieces and to be honest it was the most fun I had had in a while.

I say back in the starfighter, breathing hard and grinning like a maniac,
"You all right Norah?" The comm link crackled slightly and her voices filtered through,
"Yeah I'm good, we are going to get so much hell for this when we get back though." Just at that moment Master Windu's very angry hologram appeared in front of me and I groaned,
"I guess we aren't going to be afforded the luxury of waiting until we return for the lecture."
"That would be correct. What the hell are you thinking? Did you not hear my very loud order to stay here or did you just decide to ignore it?"
"Master I can't just leave them to die! They aren't just clones, they are men who have fought alongside us in this war from the beginning and they have saved my ass more than once, it's about time I saved their's. I don't care what the repercussions are, I owe them, we all do." He put his head in his hands,
"I don't think you quite understand, the Chancellor has expressly told us that no one is to help them, you could be expelled from the Jedi Order for this Rhea."
"Well at least it will be because I was doing the right thing."
"Rhea-" I shut down the channel before he could finish and winced slightly,
"Norah if you want to go back..."
"Like you said, at least it will be because we were doing the right thing."
"I don't deserve a friend like you."
"You deserve everything and more, I don't deserve a... friend... like you."

The journey to significantly longer than I had planned, Lothal was no where near any main hyperspace lanes which meant a lot of twists and turns but we got there eventually and honestly it was pretty nice planet, we set down in the middle of one of the enormous grassy plains that covered much of the planet and out of all the outer rim planets I have been to over the years, I have to admit Lothal was one of the nicest. We grabbed supplies out of the ships and got going, of course it was only at that point that either of us bothered to think of how we would get any of the clones back, my answer to it was stealing a ship which Norah, to my surprise, agreed with.
