They arrived at the councillors houses.
"Wow." Oralie whispered.
"Wow indeed." Her mentor agreed.
"Come in, come in, I'll start a pot of tea." Councillor Bronte said.
"Thank you Councilor Bronte." Lady Amlistra said.
"It's no worry." He said.
"Now, Oralie. What do you remember?" He asked, while placing the tea leaves in the pot.
"A crash. A scream. Then silence." She said, trying to remember what happened.
"Who's scream?" Councillor Bronte asked.
"My mother's scream. Shrill. Definitely her." Oralie said.
"And the crash?" He asked.
"I'm not sure. At the time I thought it was the bang of a pot." Oralie said.
"After the silence, you went downstairs to see what happened?" He asked.
"Yes. I sat there for a while, then hailed Lady Amlistra." Oralie said. Talking about it made it more real. Her parents were dead, and there was no changing that.
"Oh wonderful, the tea's done!" Councillor Bronte said. He lifted up the white porcelain teapot and poured it into matching cups.
"Here, milk and sugar is right there." He said and pointed to his left, where there was a silver bucket and a little silver cup, the bucket with sugar cubes inside, the cup with milk. Oralie picked up a sugar cube and waited for it to dissolve into her warm tea. She picked up the warm cup, and sipped it as politely as she could, she was still in a councillors residence.
"Thank you." Oralie said. The tea was an almost perfect temperature to her tongue.
"What is the council going to do?" Lady Amlistra asked.
"We'll definitely look into it. It won't be hard if we have a telepath and a Empath judging emotions and thoughts." Councillor Bronte said.
"Thank you." Lady Amlistra.
"But what about Oralie?" Lady Amlistra asked.
"We can find her somewhere temporary to live, I suppose." Councillor Bronte said.
"Of course it's your choice, Oralie." Said Lady Amlistra.
"Can I stay with you? If that's possible." Oralie asked. Lady Amlistra was probably one of the people she trusted the most in the Elvin world. She told Lady Amlistra everything. Even before, she was like her second mom. Foxfire mentors weren't usually like this, they were strict and uptight, always worried about children's grades. Lady Amlistra was different. Different, but in a good way.
"If that's ok with you Councillor Bronte." She said.
"Yes, definitely. You can live with Lady Amlistra, until we figure something out." He said.
"Thank you." Oralie said, relieved he didn't make her stay with a family she didn't even know.
"Well, we've discussed most of what I wanted to discuss, so you may leave." Councillor Bronte said.
"Goodbye Councillor Bronte." Lady Amlistra said, as the 2 walked out the door.
