*Riley's P.O.V*
"WAKE UP TURD FACE, YOU HAVE SCHOOL!" A voice screamed in my sleeping face, making me jolt awake. I peeled open my eyes to see Lizzy smirking at me. What a nice way to wake up your sister. Not.
"What the actual fu- CRAP, Liz! Get out!" I said, my voice still heavy with sleep. She giggled and hopped out of my room. I sighed and rolled over, Roscoe groaning in protest.
"Sorry, buddy, I have to get up. It's eight already." I said before it dawned on me. "EIGHT O'CLOCK?!" I shouted, throwing myself off of the bed and landing on the floor in a tangle of sheets. Why the hell didn't my alarm go off?!
"Shit." I cursed as I face-palmed. My alarm didn't go off because my alarm was on my phone. The phone that Lizzy dropped in the toilet. "No no no no no no!" I whispered to myself, standing up from the sheets. Right on cue, I heard feet stomping up the stairs.
"RILEY ROSE BROWN!? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU STILL DOING HERE!?" My mother's voice boomed through the door, making me freeze mid-run.
"I-I... My alarms was on my phone and I-"
"I DON'T CARE! YOU'RE SO LUCKY I DIDN'T LEAVE TO WORK YET! GET READY BEFORE I MAKE YOU WALK!" She cut me off, her feet stomping off to somewhere else. I sighed and opened my closet, throwing on the ugly green uniform we were forced to wear. I walked into the bathroom and brushed my blonde hair, thanking god it was naturally straight. I brushed my teeth and put on some mascara and eyeliner. I ran out of the bathroom and grabbed my bag, rushing downstairs after putting on some deodorant and perfume. After about thirty minutes...
"I-I'm ready!" I said, out of breath from the stair-run. Mum just rolled her eyes and motioned to the door, tucking her light brown hair behind her ear.
"Third time this month, Riley." She said, disappointment rushing through her voice. I hung my head low and walked in front of her to the black mini van. I got in the passenger's seat as she got in the driver's.
"Mum, I wouldn't have been late if I still had my phone." I mumbled, leaning my head on the window.
"Well whose fault is that, Riley?! Who's the one who dropped it in the toilet?!" She snapped, pulling out of the driveway. I rolled my eyes. Lizzy's.
"I don't know." I huffed.
"Than please tell me, who should I ask?" I don't know if it was the fact that I was late, or the heavy sarcasm dripping from her voice, but at that moment I shot up in my seat. Fuck it.
"You know who you should ask, mum? You should ask your little angel of a daughter, Lizzy." I said loudly.
"Oh my god Riley. Don't start this again. I thought you were over the phase where you blame everything on your sister-"
"But I'm not blaming her! She actually did these things!" I tried, but she rolled her eyes. "It's true! Remember how the couch broke? Well she thought it was a good idea to jump on it like it was a freaking trampoline! And who got blamed for that when you found out? ME!" I shouted the last part, making her flinch.
