For the next week, Mimie existed in an awkward limbo. RM attached to her side at any chance he got- even sitting with her, for hours, whilst she painted. Normally she wouldn't have cared that they hadn't exchanged a word for hours but not knowing if JK had talked to them about the stuff going on at home, whilst she knew about it- it left her on edge. Joon couldn't concentrate on his book whilst Mimie was shifting around like a toddler holding in their wee.
"What?" he called after two hours reading, and only getting through a single chapter.
"What?" she returned, trying to play it cool still.
"What aren't you telling me?" there it was. He'd called her right out and there was nowhere for her to hide from it.
"I hate it when you do that-,"
"I hate it when I can't read because of you," he sassed straight back, earning an eye-roll and a childish pout hidden by her back which was still facing him.
"Then leave, no one is forcing you to be here."
"Mimie-ah," the fully grown man whined, discarding his book during the outburst, "I have barely seen you for days and you were the one who didn't want to go bowling with the others-,"
"Cause Jungkook always takes the piss out of me!" she huffed defensively, their playful disagreement growing increasingly tense. "And you've been here every spare second you've had this week, just for the record," she added though she knew it wasn't necessary,
"Because you've been so odd around me lately. You've barely spoken this whole week and I wanted to spend time with you, that's why we're here, only you have something to say to me and you're not saying it and I can't concentrate."
"I have nothing to say," she insisted and Namjoon scoffed coldly, his jaw extending out of habit when he was holding back his frustration. She really hated when he did that- for once if he was angry could he just yell or something so she didn't always feel like she was just being dramatic when she got emotional.
"Stand still for thirty seconds then, just thirty seconds-," Attempting to prove him wrong, she crossed her arms over her chest and glared back at him. His gaze was deadly though and soon enough he'd killed her determination, forcing her to turn away from him without lasting even twenty seconds.
