(A/N: if this isn't the most perfect gif tho 😂)
Clearing his throat, he reached for the joggers he'd discarded last night, getting one leg halfway in as the front door opened abruptly.
"I think I'd know if Jeon Jungkook was in my-," Hana trailed off, her eyes landing on the man in the middle of dressing and the girl wearing only a t-shirt, who'd lept to her feet at the sound of a key in the door. Jimin and Namjoon stared from behind her, equally in shock- although Jimin's was more of a smug, knowing look.
"This looks a lot worse than it is..." Jungkook trailed off, trying to level his breathing so that he didn't get too red.
"Well shit," Hana blurted, her voice being the only audible sound since Jungkook had all but stopped breathing.
"We have rehearsal," Joon deadpanned, staring emptily through the maknae, not even bother to glance at Mimie, though she was searching for his eyes.
"Namjoon-ah," Jungkook began, not following his leader's implied instruction. That did not sit well with Namjoon, who was close to packing it all in and crawling back into bed instead of attending rehearsal. The last twenty-four hours had been an absolute disaster and he wanted nothing more than to go back in time and not push Jungkook to tell him who the girl was that he had kissed.
"Jungkook-ah, let's go..." Jimin, who had invited himself along when Namjoon announced he was going to get Jungkook, stepped between the two men. Speaking in a very soft but spine-tinglingly stern tone of voice; the words seem to drip off his tongue like bulletproof silk. Despite having spent the whole car journey wishing Jimin was not there, Namjoon was now grateful to have back up. Whilst his voice was failing him, he knew he could trust Jimin to carry the authoritative role, at least until they made it back to the studio.
Sparing Mimie a glance and Hana a bow, Jungkook followed his hyungs out of the apartment without another word. There was little else he could do but wait. When Namjoon was ready to talk about what just happened, he would. For now, however, the three men travelled in deathly silence, to the HYBE building. Not even Jimin had risked speaking for the whole car journey.
It was times like these when Jungkook really felt the weight of his job. Falling out with any of the members was so significant because they really were all each other had, most of the time. Being shut down from Namjoon, even for the fifteen minutes it took to travel between buildings, was torture for Jungkook. He was not exactly a confrontational person, but he would have rathered Joonscreaming at him than giving him the silent treatment.
"Warming up to the idea of liking you," that was what Namjoon had said. Granted that was before they knew about Seo, but that did not change anything for Jungkook. It was all he'd been hearing in the back of his head for days now. Jungkook was hesitant to trust the idea, having considered Mimie having feelings for him before, only for Seo to appear and send him back to square one.
