Chapter 8-Mabby
It was the next day. After waking almost an hour after my alarm went, I had hurriedly gotten ready, and if it was more possible to look terrible, then I fitted in that category. Most of the girls spent an hour alone doing makeup. I found it unfair how boys could just roll out of bed, get changed, and still have girls pining after them.
"You look terrible, Charlie" Madi was walking with Maxine and a boy who looked just like them in male form. The Bakers had strong genes, that was for certain. "Madison, stop being rude. You look great, babe. That white shirt really brings out your pretty eyes. Anyways, gotta get to class. Riley is with me in English lit. Ginny's already gone to class, hasn't she?" I nodded as Max quickly strolled away.
"Max has another crush! Whoopee! I didn't think she would get over-" Madi seemed to think she had said to much and quickly cut herself off.
"Who?" I asked, but uncannily enough, I think I already knew.
"I don't know if I should say, Charlie. She might not want me to. And it was months ago..." But i could tell she was aching to say.
"It's Abby, right? Abby was in a relationship with Max!" The expression on Maci's face looked a little more relieved that I knew, but it instantly twisted into one of horror. I turned round to see what was the matter. Shit. Abby was right in front of me, tapping her foot on the ground impatiently. Her green eyes turned electric as my eyes met hers, and she looked grim. But that look of pure hatred deeply unsettled me.
"WHY are you talking to the new girl about something that happened four months ago. Madison Baker, do you want me to fucking strangle you? Because I am really, really tempted to."
"No, no, Abigail, Madi didn't tell me, I figured it out for myself" I tried to say, and she gave straightened up.
"What do you mean, you figured it out for yourself?" She barked, flinging her orange hair over her shoulder. Her eyes looked wild and haunted.
"Um, I found a message in the bathrooms saying Abby Loves Maxine, so... I'm sorry. I won't say anything." Abby tried to hold back a shocked gasp, before turning away and heading down the corridor.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know that would make her so angry. Why, though? What happened between them?"
"Long story short, they were girlfriends for 3 months, but then they fell out or something. Max doesn't speak about It either. They agreed to stay best friends, but if you ask me, Abigail still loves my sister very much" Madi answered before we walked into the classroom.
