Chapter 31- Fight Scene
Just as we were all planning to go, I heard raised voices further along the bleachers. I turned my head around and saw Abby, Norah, Maxine and Ginny making their way past students departing to go to class. They all had concerned looks etched on their faces, but Abby just looked so...fuming. Her fury seemed to spring to life as she stood in front of us with the girls by her side.
"Um, don't you have class to get to, Abs?" Aria nervously asked. Abby out her hands to her hips, breathing heavily.
"You bitch." She hissed, getting closer to Aria's face till the two short sisters were level with one another. The tension rose ten levels.
"Abby, hey-" Max tried to coax her away but Abby shook her hands off. Aria was trembling with fear. Her hands shook and she tried to take a few steps back, but Abby took her shoulder and flung her forward.
"You think you can just bring 100 dollars from my purse and not have me notice? I'm going to fucking kill you, and you'll be lucky if you ever see the stars of tomorrow, Aria!" She gave a jagged scream and shoved her as hard as she could. Aria crumpled to the ground, trying to shield her eyes and face desperately. Max, Ginny and Norah stood aside, unsure what to do.
"Abby, leave her alone!" I protested. I tried to rush over to help her because Aria looked pretty shaken and her hands were grazed roughly. Scarlet drops of blood came from her hands, and she tried to rub the grit off them.
"Abby, I didn't!" She weakly tried, but anybody could tell she was faking.
"You filthy bitch! You're lying, I know you are! Do you know how hard I worked for that! Where is it? Where is it? Where is it?" Abby screamed and raked her nails across Aria's face. Kara have a strangled cry and tried to run over, but Aria quickly brushed her off and stood up, her breathing slow and weak.
"It's not with me! I hate you, Abby! I hate you so much!" And she punched her. A quick swipe that hit her smack in the jaw. Maxine raced to Abby and hugged her, but the two sisters were at each other again. They scratched and brawled like strays, and ignored our cries and screams. Why were they doing this? Because of me? The feeling made me nauseous and petrified. I ran over once again to Abby and Aria, and when I tried to prise Abby's hand off Aria, she went even more manic and hit me square on the nose.
"Charlie!" And the world swum into darkness. I felt like I was falling in a sea of despair. There were more shouts, noises, lights...they were such bright lights...and then, nothing.
And I remember. It was just how I liked it.
