Chapter 7

At the airship, we were all gathered up in a room, with Netero and the green blob from phase one.

"I will now take the opportunity to introduce myself properly to the remaining 43 applicants. I am Netero, the chairman of the selection committee for this year's hunter exam. It's all a pleasure to meet all of you."

"And I'm his secretary, Beans." The green booger adds on.

"I had originally planned to make my appearance during the exams final phase but, well seeing as how I'm already here..." Netero looks around the room at each of us.

"I have to admit, there's nothing I love more than feeling this tension in the air. So, I think I'll stick around for the remainder of the trip." From the corner of my eye, I see Killua yawn, clearly not interested in this conversation.

"We are scheduled to arrive at our destination tomorrow morning at 8:00 am exactly. You'll find dinner waiting for you in the dining hall. You're also welcomed to get some rest of course. You're free to do as you please until we contact you. The evening is yours." Beans says.

"Hey come on, Gon! Let's go and explore the airship!"

"Yeah!" Gon and Killua run off in a random direction.

"They've got so much energy! Not me though. All I wanna do now is crash." Leorio shrugs.

"As do I" Kurapika adds.

"Alright then, I'll let you boys rest, I'll keep an eye on the kids."

"Aren't you tired Y/N?" Leorio looks at me concerned.

"Assassins are not allowed to sleep most nights. I became a light sleeper just in case something happens and no one else hears it. I'm trained for this, you don't have to worry about me." I smile and walk away in the direction the two boys went.

As I walked through the halls of the airship, I noticed some commotion happening in the kitchen.

"Hey! Kids! What are you doing? Stay out of the kitchen!" I see the door swing open with the cook holding Gon and Killua, and dropping them on the ground.

"Go eat in the dining hall with the others!" The cook slams the door shut, leaving the two boys in the hall.

"Y/N!" Gon turns to me and gets up.

"You boys are too much." I chuckle.

We end up walking through the halls and see some benches near the windows, so we sit. The boys stare out at the city, admiring the view.

"Hey....so I was wondering..." Gon starts. Killua and I turn to him with a confused look.

"Your parents. Are they-I mean... what are they?"

"Hmm... They're alive. Probably." I couldn't help but laugh at Killua's statement.

"What do they do." Gon says, still staring at the city.

"They're assassins."

"They both are?" Gon and I say in sync. Killua laughs.

"That's your response?" Killua, Gon, and I look at each other.

"You're not the first people I've told about my parents but you're the first to take it seriously."

"Wait, so that's why you looked so familiar. I've never seen you in my life, but I felt a connection with you." I raise an eyebrow.

"I'm from a family of assassins, so yeah." He shrugs.

"No, I mean...let me get myself together."
