We finally made it to Dolle Harbour. We hop off the ship and looked around the area. Kurapika, Leorio, and I stared at a map while we waited for Gon.

We ended up finding out the way to the exam site, so we pursued and went on about our way.

As we were walking, there was an awkward amount of silence between us. It was unbearable.

"This is one creepy place. There isn't a single soul anywhere." Leorio says.

"Agreed." I replied. I couldn't help but get the feeling someone was watching us though. I wasn't using Zetsu, but even if I did, it wouldn't help. These guys knew nothing about nen, so they were out in the open.

"No, there are a bunch of people here." A voice said in the distance.

We all went on a defensive stance, waiting for whoever the person was to pop up.

From the side, two doors open to reveal an old lady with people in masks surrounding her. I raise an eyebrow at the sight, clearly confused.

"What's up with these guys?" Leorio asks.

"I have no idea" I nudge his side, clearly freaked out.

"Exciting." The old woman said.

"Exciting?" We all say in sync.

"Time for the exciting multiple choice quiz!" The woman yelled. We all stared at her with blank faces.

"Let me guess, You kids are headed for the cedar on the hill, aren't you?" She rests her head on her intertwined hands.

"There's only one way to get there. You'll have to pass through this town first. You must pass a quiz comprised of a single question." Leorio then talks back.

"Wait a second! What is going on here?" Ignoring his request, she continues.

"You'll have five seconds to answer. If you're correct, then you can move on. If not, you're disqualified from this year's exam."

"Oh I see. It's another trial we have to pass before taking the exam." Kurapika elaborates.

"So that's it huh? Lucky I'm an expert in quizzes."

"Don't get too cocky now Leorio. I'll handle it." I smirk and walk forward to the woman.

"Your answer must be either the number one or two. Any answer that is not the number one or number two will be deemed incorrect."

Leorio complained about us sharing the question, and how we'd all get disqualified if one person answered it wrong, but luckily we got him to agree to it since it'd be the best option.

Before we could hear the question, a man interrupts.

"Hey, hey. Hurry it up, or I might answer it before the rest of you get a chance."

Leorio's confused ass asked who this was. Gon explained to him how he's been following us and I backed him up.

I knew I felt another presence along the way.

In a hurry, we let the man answer the question on his own. Which he did, but gave the wrong answer. The lady let him pass either way.

Strange.

Leorio complained once again that there was no way he got the answer right.

What an idiot. There is no right answer.

Kurapika and Gon seemed deep in thought, so I stepped in.

"I'll answer the next question for us if you guys would like?" I look at the boys.

"Very well then Y/N. I trust you." Kurapika says.

"And now here is your question. You learn both your son and your daughter have been kidnapped. You will only be able to rescue one of them. Choose one for your son and two for your daughter." The old woman says.

I stayed silent.

There's no right or wrong answer, so there's no use in responding. I stared at the woman until she counted from five to one. From the corner of my eye, I see Leorio grab a large stick from one of the buildings, ready to fight.

He charges towards the woman, but Kurapika stops him.

Leorio throws a fit and I explained to him that silence was the only answer we could have given to her. Kurapika backed me up as well. Gon was still deep in thought.

The old woman sent us to the right path of the exam and set us free. She even wished us the best of luck.

Thank god that's over with.

"Leorio, you really need to control your emotions." I say blankly as we walk down the trail. Nighttime had already fallen upon us.

"Hmph." Is all he replied, and he crossed his arms in annoyance. I roll my eyes at his response.

We continue walking until we see a sign.

"Another 'Beware of Magical Beasts' sign?" Leorio reads. I stare at him blankly.

"I'm starting to think we're never gonna find this stupid exam site." He scratches his head.

Leorio then begins to throw a fit and complain about how he's hungry and has to use the bathroom. Kurapika points to a small cabin, explaining how that might be the place.  We talk towards it and knock on the door.

After not receiving a response, Leorio opens the door slowly, and we stand there in shock. A man was on the ground, and some weird creature was holding a woman in front of him.

"It appears to be a Kiriko. It can take on human form! They're extremely intelligent." Kurapika explains.

"Let's get 'em." I say before we all charge towards the creature.

Leorio runs towards the man's aid while me, Kurapika, and Gon follow the Magical beast.

While Gon and Kurapika ran, I grabbed my sword whip from my hips and wrap it around a tree branch to pull myself off the ground. I start jumping from tree to tree, following the many creatures lurking. From the corner of my eye, I see Gon jump from the ground and onto the trees.

Impressive. What a talented kid.

Gon makes his way to the Kiriko with the woman, and he hits it with his fishing rod. The Kiriko drops the woman and Kurapika catches her and swiftly puts her down while Gon continues the chase.

"Are you hurt miss?" I ask as the woman slowly wakes up.

"I'm fine, but... what about my husband? Is he alright?" She asks. I had an eery feeling surrounding me. Something wasn't right. Kurapika notices the tattoos on the woman's wrist, and he begins to question it before someone interrupted.

"Kurapika, Y/N. You guys okay?" Leorio jogs towards us.

"Guess you are. What a relief." Leorio seemed suspicious, and Kurapika turned to look at me, knowing something was up. I furrow my eyebrows and turn to Leorio.

"How is the man you were caring for?"

"Good. I think he'll pull through fine. Lucky for him, the wound wasn't as deep as it looked, I gave him some painkillers so he's sleeping it off back at the cabin."

"I see." Kurapika says before striking Leorio in the forehead.

"How'd you know?" Leorio transforms into the Kiriko and laughs evilly.

Kurapika then explains how he didn't and would have smacked Leorio either way for leaving the man all by himself.

I grab a knife and put it at the woman's throat.

"Now tell us who you are, and what you want from us." I say sternly, making it clear I wasn't playing games.

A few moments later...

We were back at the cabin, with the woman, the man, and two Kiriko's.

They explained how this was part of the exam and they were navigators, who guide worthy applicants to where the exam is located. They congratulated us letting us know we passed and qualified, and took us to the exam site.
