Chapter 52

Exam day...

Killua and I were finally heading to the exam. Gon suggested we go back to the Kiriko's, because they'll take us to the exam site since they know him and I, so that's what we did.

We walk inside the cabin, and Killua lets them know who we are. The Kirikos walk over and sniff us both carefully.

"Yup, you smell like Gon!" One of them says.

"I wish we could see him!" Another one says.

"Y/N, how are the other two boys?"

"I haven't seen them in a while, but last I checked, they're doing pretty good."

"Alright then. Leave it to us. We'll take you to the exam site." We nod and they take us to the exam site.

A couple of hours later...

We were now in front of a random building who knows where.

"Once someone answers the door, follow their directions." The two Kirikos extend their hands, and we take it with pleasure.

"Good luck!"

"Thank you guys." I smile. The Kirikos then fly away, leaving me and my brother.

"Alright. Are you ready Kil?"

"Hell yeah I am."

"Good." Killua and I walk to an apartment building, and we look at each other in reassurance before he presses the bell.

"Does Michael live here?" Some man in a beard opens the door immediately.

"Go do some shopping at Diksakura, by the station. At the checkout, use this card." The man hands us a pink card, and we head out.

At the station...

Killua hands the card to the woman attending us, and she tells us to follow her way.

She takes us to an elevator, and after the doors open, we walk out.

This feels exactly like the first time.

It was full of people, more than last year's exam. I'd say around a thousand applicants were in this room.

Killua and I were given our badges. He was 1219, and I was 1220.

"There are many more people than last year." Killua says.

"Yeah. I wonder if there's anyone we know..." Just as I was finishing my thought, the three brothers with that weird clown makeup show up in front of us. The ones Kil stole their badges from.

"Hey!" They say in sync.

"Last year, you had your way with us." The big one says.

"It won't be the same this time!" The shorter one continues.

Shut up. We don't care. You don't even look like you had much progress anyway. I roll my eyes.

"We put ourselves through some hellish training after what happened." The tall skinny one finishes.

"Our teamwork is perfect now-" Killua and I give them a blank face and walk away, tired of their babbling.

As we continued to walk, a door on the side opens, revealing a man with a JB haircut, and a purple outfit.

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming! This year, 1,489 applicants have made it this far, but the examiner for the second phase has asked me to trim that number down to about 300. As for the exam? We have two hours before lunch. Knock out five people before then. Grab their tags when you defeat them, and see me when you have all five." Gasps can be heard from the distance. I look down at Kil with an evil smirk.
