lee's POV

when i woke the movers called me telling me they were here with everything including all my cars. i smiled and got up and brushed my teeth and washed my face after i let them in.

"good morning" jayda said

"good morning" i smiled

the masters bedroom bathroom came with 2 sinks in here and the shower was perfect.

she washed her face and then i threw on my shoes to help bring stuff in and tell them were to put it. only thing i hate about moving is this long ass process.

i'd probably go ahead and get everything set up today and tomorrow and then the days after that work on unpacking my clothes.

i peeked in the kitchen and saw jayda ass putting fruits and drinks and shit out for the workers.

she smiled at me and i just shook my head laughing. she was so sweet. she left a card and went back to sit on the corner of the floor. i could tell she was thinking a lot. i would do as much as i can to help her.

after a couple hours everything was in the house we just needed to set stuff up. we played sum music and got to work. i started downstairs with basic necessities like the kitchen the living room.

then we did our room and basically just figured out where we wanted everything.

"should we get a king size bed" i asked looking at the finish room

"we don't really need it" i said

"you got a lot of shoes" he asked

"yes" i said

"me too .... i wonder if we can find somewhere to put em ... what about that 2nd closet upstairs" he said

we took all the boxes of shoes downstairs and just left it down there for now . i had no energy to unpack anything at the moment.

i heated the food up from yesterday in the microwave. i got a drink out the fridge and then lee sat next to me with his food.

"how are you" he asked

"i'm okay" i lied

he rolled his eyes and ate i just didn't want to keep worrying him. especially about the same thing.

"should i try and be a basketball trainer they get paid good and i feel like i got the skills" he said

"yea you should i think you'd do good" i said

"you just saying that to say cause you never seen me ball so how you gon know if i'm good" he said

"let's go to the court tomorrow then"

"oh you like that" he said

"yea let's take a break from packing and go in this hot ass heat" i said laughing

"hell nah we going inside we not finna get burnt" he said laughing with me

we cleaned up our food and then i went and took a nice nap.

when i finally woke up it was 2 hours later. i showered. i was so tired today went by fast. i came out the bathroom and lee was on the phone.

"yes ma'am you need us to grab anything"

"okay see you in a bit" he said

i looked at him confused.

"soo my mom wants us to come over for dinner" he said

"oh you have family here" i said

"born and raised" he said

"wow umm okay lemme just find sum to wear" i said while a lot of throughts rushed through my head

lee grabbed me from behind and kissed my neck.

"it'll be fine she'll like you" he said rubbing my shoulders

i took a deep breathe. and looked for something to put on. i laid it on the bed and got myself together.

i got dressed and did my hair.

"i look good" i asked putting my shoes on and posing in the big ass body mirror

"always" he said grabbing his stuff

i smiled and grabbed mine too. we made sure to lock all the doors using our phones since we got the security installed today too.

we got in the car and i connected my phone to the bluetooth playing sum music. i fixed my lashes and took some videos. i felt happy and my mind was clear.

we stopped at walmart to get sum napkins and other stuff she asked us to get and finished the drive there. it took like 15 minutes not bad. the house was very nice. we got out and knocked at the door.

"heeeey my baby" she said hugging lee

"hi momma" he said

"this is jayda my girl i met her in up state .. uh it's a long story about how we ended up moving together" lee said

"hiii ms jayda" she said hugging me real tight

i hugged back "hellooo" i said

(so awkward)

"come in have a seat" she said

i followed lee and we took out shows off and sat on the couch.

"so jayda" she called from the kitchen

i got up and walker closer so she didn't have to yell.

"tell me about yourself"

i looked at lee and he nodded basically saying i could trust her.

"i was born and raised in atlanta. my parents died when i was 19 so um i had a bf i had been with for a long time and he said i could stay with him. so i did"

"he's not a good man tho. he's toxic, manipulative, a control freak and just awful. he had no respect for me and i always tried to get away and it only made things worse."

"i met lee and he's been helping me a lot and he helped me move here and i feel really good about running away this time" i said

her mom sighed and hugged me. i hugged back and teared up.

"trust me i understand.. lee's dad was the same way. and it hurts knowing there's no way out. but once your free it feels so good. your strong because i know it was times where i wanted to just give up. but when i found out i was pregnant. i wanted to keep him and that's when i got away made a living for myself"

"do you know what he's doing till this day" i asked

"i killed em" she said going back to cooking

"i had no other choice it was self defense . it doesn't make me crazy you know i've been asking god for forgiveness and building a closer relationship with him" she spoke

"i used to think about doing that but as you know it's not that easy and i rather just flee but if it ever came to that at least i know i wasn't in the wrong" i said wiping my tears

i helped her set the table and we all prayed and talked while eating. i'm so glad i wasn't alone and if i ever needed better advice i could get help" i said thinking while eating
