Callum and Yalaxy turned to face the rest of the people in the room. Yalaxy appeared to be taking the looks from them better than Callum. Callum wanted to curl up into a ball and forget about everything. He was a monster that fed of of human flesh. Yalaxy had told him that yes, they were monsters, the only thing they could do was embrace it and move forward. It wasn't helping him though. Just then, an explosion sounded from outside the room. Callum looked through he hole that the attackers had made when they came in. He saw a giant creature that was tearing apart the city. He heard the screams of people trying to run away and he saw the guards trying in vain to fight it. A apparition suddenly appeared.

"Ah, that's better. How are you going to handle this, you abominations?" Aaravos mockingly asked. "Even with your power, you cannot hope to stand against my favorite pet." His "pet" was about the size of a small mansion and it was tearing away at the lower city. It looked like a giant wolf and it had dark black and purple fur.

"Again, I must show you who you're dealing with," Yalaxy said. He didn't look worried. "Callum, let's go. We have to use it." Callum knew what he meant. However, using that form would be taxing and controlling the hunger that came afterwards would be difficult. Yalaxy had already begun to transform despite this. Four more tenticles sprouted from his back; however, these were coated with flames. His face was now covered with a metallic mask with only eye holes and his mouth uncovered. Callum sprouted more tentacles of his own; however, his were barbed instead of on fire, and he gained a mask of his own. Callum enjoyed to look of seeing the star touch elf's face pale as he witnessed this.

"Stars above, your kakujas," Aaravos managed to get out. The star touch elf who was present at the meeting paled at this. This did not go unoticed by Ezran.

"What is a kakuja?" he asked the man.

"In the days before the ghouls were believed to have been wiped out, kakujas were ghouls that grew stronger by consuming the flesh of other ghouls. Such cases were rare, as they kept to themselves and nobody dared bother them. However, when Aaravos sought to eliminate them, he had to contend with one. That staff that the dark mage carries was made using blood from a ghoul in a spell. He was a half kakuja, but the fight nearly cost him his life. Kakuja's are extremely powerful. They are immune to dark magic and have even greater speed and strength," The star touch elf finished. Ezran was amazed and also scared at the same time. Callum was really this strong and Ezran had no idea all this time. The two kakujas ran out through the hole in the room and jumped from building to building with a speed very few ever saw, much less obtained. Ezran looked back around.

"What should we do with them?" Janai asked them all.

"You speak as though we could force them to do anything," the star touch elf said. "Those two are possibly the strongest beings in existence, and they are working together. One is bad enough, but there are two."

"Maybe this could be beneficial to us," the regent of Del Bar said. If they are resistant to dark magic, perhaps we could persuade them to handle the gilded hand for us," he suggested.

"True, but we don't know what they plan on doing," Lujanne spoke up.

The star touch elf spoke again, "the ghouls were never sought outright violence. They only ever left their lands to hunt for humans and elves for food. Other than that, they usually kept to themselves. The dragon king tolerated their existence, because famine was a constant problem for the world at that time. The dragon king saw them as a way to control the population. Until the war broke out, very few people died outside of natural causes. Ghouls helped keep the impacts of famine to a minimum. as much as you all won't like it, leaving them to their own devices is the best course of action. Above all, we do not want them to be our enemies. Yalaxy had already made it clear that he won't hesitate to deal with those that threaten him. However, Callum seems to be the enigma in this situation. I know for a fact he wasn't a ghoul at his birth, so what became of him?"

"I wish I knew," Ezran said. "After an... Incident 4 years ago, he became more withdrawn and he spent a lot of time alone." He looked at Rayla who was still staring at the floor. "He ate less food then before. I guess now I know why. Is it possible to become a ghoul?"

"As far as I know, No there is no possible way for this to happen. But it seems that they have made it possible. All I know is that they can do whatever they want. If they decided that they want to conquer the world then they could do it," the star touch elf said.

"So they are an enormous threat to us, yet we don't have the power to do anything about it," the regent of Evenere said.

"In short yes. We must talk with them to figure out their motives when they return," said the star touch elf.

"You speak as if they will return," Aaravos said. Everyone almost forgot he was there.

"You know as well as I do that that creature wouldn't ahve a chance against even one kakuja," the star touch elf responded. True to his word, Callum and Yalaxy were fighting the creature. It had numerous cuts and burn marks on its body and it was now impaled in the stomach and head by Callum's barbed tentacles. It slowly disappeared into dust after being delivered a fatal blow. However, what happened next surprised them the most.  It was the cheers of jubilation coming from the people that surrounded the area where the creature was. It was faint, but they could here it.

"It seems they've made themselves popular here," the wood elf chief joked. Their kakujas had disappeared and they were running back to the room where they were all sitting. They got there rather quickly. Aaravos scoffed before disappearing.

"I think we made him poop his pants," Yalaxy turned to Callum.

"Man, shut up, my stomach is killed me," Callum responded. Using his kakuja had drained him of his strength and he needed to replenish. Yalaxy pulled a bag out of his jacket and handed it to Callum. Callum opened it up and began eating eat. He didn't care that others were watching. If he didn't eat then he wouldn't be able to keep himself from attacking. Yalaxy began eating some flesh himself. Callum turned and noticed Rayla looking at him. He saw he leg still had that cut and she had last a lot of blood. He got up and walked over to her. Nobody tried to stop him. He pulled a flask out of his jacket and handed it to her. She shrinked away. This made his heart sink, but this wasn't the time for that. "It's a healing potion, you need it to help replace the blood you've lost," he said. After a few seconds, she took it a nd drank it. He still needed to take care of her wound. He helped her take off her boot to get a look at it. It was bad. "I am going to stich this up. This is going to hurt, I'm sorry." He brought out one tentacle of his kagune, but is was thin and wire like. If Rayla could back up more, she would have, but the wall was behind her. Callum noticed the look of fear in her face.

...

Rayla was afraid. Moonshadow elves were taught to never show fear, but when she saw that thing come out of his back. She couldn't help herself. He noticed this and his gaze softened. It was that same look he gave her whenever she woke up from a nightmare in the castle. It was to comfort her and let her know that everything was going to be okay. Even after all this time, he still hadn't changed. "Do you trust me?" he asked. His voice sounded deeper and more confidant than before. He also looked thinner and taller. After a moment, she nodded. This was still the same Callum after all, right? He moved the thing forward. It was thinner than any stitch she had ever see.  He began at the bottom of the cut. He was right, it did hurt, but it hurt less than the stiches she had known. He moved quickly and precisely. He was finished and Rayla hadn't been aware she was holding her breath. "You okay?" he asked. Concern lined his face.

"Yeah, I'm fin.." she passed out. Adrenaline was keeping her going, but now that was gone and has had lost a lot of blood. The last thing she remembered was Callum calling out to her.
